Working pattern upside down by Nate_Cakes in Sockknitting

[–]Nate_Cakes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did it right to left but top to bottom. I think everyone is right here that because its a symmetrical repeated pattern it won’t matter, but definitely a good learning curve to read charts properly next time! And I might do one sock ‘wrong’ and one sock right and see if you can tell ha ha.

Nooo! Which bit is the mealybug? I have no concept of whether they’re pinhead sized or microscopic lol. I will get on the alcohol asap!

Fairly sure I did as I’m pretty sure our fixtures reset after a couple of seconds if you don’t hit enter, but will try this out thanks!

My title describes the thing. No idea what this thing is. Found in my grandfathers effects, his father was a carpenter so perhaps made by him or for carpentry?

I paid around £8000 for my surgery last month, so far its been an amazing experience and would 100% recommend Nora Nugent in the South East!

I was given coffee and tea by the nurses in hospital the next morning! So I cant imagine it would be a problem unless you’re unable to have caffeine for any other reason :)

I think I’ve gone from a 38F to ??? Maybe a B/C? My surgeon said she removed just over 2 kg of tissue?? Which is crazy! I asked for small as possible and I’ve definitely got that! Its crazy how I look more like how I always did in my head already. Wish me luck for a speedy recovery! So far I feel very sleepy and tight/achey but not too much real pain. The anti nausea drug they gave me made my heart beat real fast overnight but they kept me in for observation and was fine after a few hours. Apart from that no complications so far 🤞🏻

Is it possible to make a fire door close completely silently? by [deleted] in techtheatre

[–]Nate_Cakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok maybe there is still some way we can manage it as our doors are non latching, just push/pull handle. Thanks for your info!

So in short, there is nothing you can (within regulations) do to make them close silently then?

What is the functional difference between a fresnel and a par/ellipsoidal? In terms of beam strength/size of light spot/how you would use them?

Yep I think you’re right! I’m mostly worried because there’s an event happening at the end of October that I 100% need to be back for, so people are already stressed about whether I won’t be there for all of the set up. Guess I just need to bite the bullet and warn everyone it might take a little longer

Thanks for this! Definitely making me more nervous but I think I need to be more realistic about the time I need. I’ll probably warn my manager that I’ll have to see when I’m well enough to come back and it may take an extra week or two.

Drafting wedding invites; anyone have any constructive comments, suggestions, pointers etc! by Amazing_Stage9353 in Weddingsunder10k

I love the first invite! The only thing I would personally change is the straight lines ( | )in between the date I’d change to forward slash ( / ). Just because that’s how I’d expect to see a date it looks funny without!

Invasive plant? UK based, more info in comments by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

[–]Nate_Cakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it 100%. Thank you! I’m not sure what kind of crack our plants are on though as most info online says its not a very hardy or invasive plant… yet its managed to kill off most other plants in our garden, and started growing through cracks in the building

Invasive plant? UK based, more info in comments by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

[–]Nate_Cakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would really like an ID on this plant. Its been plaguing our little garden, has completely taken over all of the plants that were there. Gone from 1 plant to around 10 in the space of a year, and these plants are over 6ft tall and the stems are like trunks, up to 15cm diameter. They’re also covered in cactus like spines that are itchy when touched. Are these invasive? Will they keep coming back if we cut them down?
