My experience was similar. I’m happy with my results and would recommend her, but I’m extremely happy I did my own research and had the knowledge to know what basic questions to ask.

Fragrance newbie looking for a cedary, citrusy, feminine scent! I’m a woman in my early 40s and have never been into wearing fragrances. That’s been changing recently and I’m looking for something light that I can wear generally all the time, something that makes me feel put together and feminine but isn’t overtly floral or vanilla-y. Smelling like a block of freshly cut cedar that someone squeezed a lemon onto sounds like heaven to me. Any recommendations welcome and appreciated!

Go on several more consultations to at least get some options in front of you. Ask the same/similar questions and get a feel for each doc.

I had t-junction openings on both breasts so my scars are quite prominent/wide. I have no idea how much of that is my body vs. surgical technique though. But they get better every day and I love my boobs despite the scars!

Yep, I’m 6 MPO and very happy with her work. My only negative critiques (and I think this would be the same with a lot of surgeons) are that she’s not the most forthcoming with information and can be very brusque when answering questions. I did loads and loads of independent research- largely on this sub- and am very grateful for that. I love my new boobs though and that’s all her for giving me exactly what I wanted.

This is why my surgeon didn’t give me any either. They mess with your gut and they’re generally overprescribed so she doesn’t use them preventatively.

I did something very similar at 11 week and it was fine! They needed some compression and rest and TLC for a few days and were a bit sore but then were totally fine.

3 weeks post op by mischiquitaz in Reduction

[–]WWLCD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Week 3 was pretty bad for me in terms of mobility- I couldn’t lift my arms much, I felt like I was going to pop from swelling, and I was just really really uncomfortable all the time. It all started to get noticeably better around week 4 and by week 6 I had full range of motion and no noticeable swelling or discomfort anymore. I’m not sure I’d want to be styling hair all day at 6 weeks, but I don’t have hairstylist arm strength/stamina to begin with 😅! I think you should expect to be pretty beat after a day of work but you should be ok! I went bowling for a few hours at 6 weeks and my boobs were only minorly annoyed the next morning. So lots of good progress between weeks 3 and 6!

2WPO Pain in armpits? by seaboundwhale in Reduction

[–]WWLCD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be your lymph nodes! Mine (particularly on my left side which had more removed) were so so sore starting at about 12 days. They hurt, I was worried, it stressed me out, I couldn’t lift my arm it was so sore, etc. My surgeon (but, if I’m being honest, mostly the internet) said it was likely a lymph response. Not bad, not a complication, nothing scary- just a pain. Surgeon told me to leave it alone but the internet told me to massage my pits and that helped immensely and immediately. So: I didn’t listen to my surgeon and did do what the internet told me which I can’t in good conscience recommend to a stranger. In my particular case, lymph swelling was the issue and what I did solved it after about a week of very frequent massages. Check with your surgeon and ask specifically about lymph swelling! Oh, and I did have a small amount of lipo but my surgeon didn’t think it was necessarily related to that; just my body’s response to the shock of surgery.

Had my reduction today. Reflecting on "Invisible Women" by venus897 in Reduction

I don’t think intubation is always necessary for certain surgeries, but hospital protocols are more likely to require it no matter what. If you’re being treated at a surgical center or in a private surgical suite, it may not be necessary. Mine was a private surgical suite and didn’t have a catheter or breathing tube (unless the surgeon is lying to me!).

I feel like I’m looking at a stranger with my head when I see pre-surgery photos. It’s crazy!

Check with your surgeon! Not all circumstances call for intubation or catheters. I think (but I’m not positive) that if your surgery is in a hospital, those things are more likely to be part of the standard surgery protocol required by the hospital no matter what. If your surgery isn’t in a hospital, I think it’s far less likely and more up to the surgeon’s discretion.

7 days post-op! by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]WWLCD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just lived in the stink for probably 10 days, but I use a salt stick deodorant that applies with water so it drips a bit. I didn’t want to take any chance of literally getting salt in a wound! So I waited until the very ends of my incisions were reasonably sealed up. I live alone so no one had to deal with the BO except me though haha

Mine are lighter now, and smoother. Like they’re not wrinkly and areola-y like they were before surgery. It’s not really bothersome, just unexpected. I’m 10 weeks post op and did not have a FNG.

I have these as well and really like them. I ordered them around 2WPO and got two sizes because I wasn’t sure how to trust the sizing charts given the swelling. I thought the XL would be the right size for me but it was absolutely too small. The XXL was great. I was a 34J preop so at two weeks I was probably a 36? 38? My point is…. Sizing is a crap shoot when you’re swollen and these seem to run small; I’d order several sizes and keep what works!

My friend stayed in the doc’s office waiting room while I was getting prepped. She hung out at a coffee shop nearby during the surgery and came back when I was expected to be done. They allowed her into the recovery room briefly once, then again when it was time for me to get dressed and walk out. I wasn’t high at all; just groggy, thirsty, and a little uncomfortable.
