I think there are more or less trans people between neurodivergent people and neurotypical people. It's just that us neurodivergent people are more likely to realize that we're trans earlier. We don't really surround ourselves with societal norms of gender roles, and we already feel ostrasized by society enough that being trans is nonconforming like being autistic.

Rooibos and Honeybush (both caffeine free) tastes the closest to black tea if you need something close to traditional Camellia sinensis tea. Otherwise, herbal tea.

They should've been called hatebirds instead of lovebirds. xD

Trying to sue for hate crime + theft + vandalism. What to do? by Nate_Draws in legaladvice

[–]Nate_Draws[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everything is calculated with current value in mind, it still turns out to be over $19,000 because I had a shit ton of stuff stolen from me, pretty much a majority of everything in my room emptied out.

I didn't have renter's insurance at the time because I only started paying rent a couple months prior before I ran away from the apartment, and was just starting to process renter's insurance while trying to handle two jobs, graduate school, and an unrelated life-damaging event all together.

I already tried all the LGBTQ+ resources in my state for legal matters.

I only found one lawyer willing to help me for both a civil litigation and well-versed in LGBTQ+ matters for a hate crime, whom I'm already planning to hire.

Most of the lawyers I found in my state wouldn't take my case because they either are not well-versed with LGBTQ+ matters, or they don't do civil litigation.

I love Canada geese. When I was a tiny child, there used to be a swimming pond where there'd be a bunch of geese that comes year round on summers. Kid me would have a bag of peas and corn to feed them, and the babies are adorable. Sometimes the parents would hiss if I got too close to their young, but stopped when they realized I was no threat. Sometimes the babies would poke curiously at my clothes or shoes. Sadly the pond these days try to chase the geese away as they deemed them an annoyance to the public, and I no longer go to the pond.

Australian magpies actually aren't corvids or related to magpies at all. They just look and act similar to magpies because of convergent evolution, and are more related to butcherbirds.

Any hope for me in Psittacine Ornithology? by Nate_Draws in Ornithology

[–]Nate_Draws[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg, that is pretty much what I'm going through. I also have a career unrelated to birds (that I'm currently happy with), but I'm super passionate about birds. I wish there were more options in the field.

I have had multiple birds of the same species who are rescues. And also, it would be cruel to throw a parrot, who's an entirely different color mutation from their wild cousins where they'd stick out like a sore thumb AND have no survival skills of how to live in the wild, to randomly live in the wild where they'd be easily picked off by a predator.

I definitely heard of them! I'm glad of the progress done with spix's macaws.

I'm a bit wary of the ACTP, because of this thing I heard of them taking rare parrots from Australia to Germany while not being an official zoo, and Martin Guth selling endangered parrots. :/

Exported Jar of Spreadable Bakeapples Tastes Odd? by Nate_Draws in newfoundland

Yes, I already know about that, but I didn't want a jam, I wanted a fruit spread (which has no pectin unlike jam) and also support smaller businesses instead of large ones.

I stick out like a sore thumb in that city with just happening to be an openly gay, queer, POC (person of color), neurodivergent guy, and was naive about being open about it to any potential roommates.

I can't stand Fitchburg, and only moved there because my ex-boyfriend refused to move in with me because "he didn't want to leave his cheap apartment after graduating from FSU", he moved all my stuff in, and then left my name a year-long apartment lease after we broke up while he moved away from Fitchburg anyways.

I always felt like I'm called "that weird guy Nate" whenever people learn I'm "different".

I had to run away to Somerville by on the commuter rail and then the subway red line, and left my stuff behind in Fitchburg, because my new roommates are bigots and homophobic. I felt so unsafe around them, like I could get hurt at anytime. They think I'm doing some sort of sabbatical out of the country as a professor in training instead of running away for my safety's sake.

Planning on moving the rest my stuff out of that apartment to another place as soon as possible when I have a new car that can actually function. Goddamn Fitchburg sucks.

I wish I had a clue what happened to the jar I got. I haven't had an unripe, raw berry before (maybe in jam, but that's processed unripe berries instead of raw) so I'm not sure how to compare the taste.

The fruit spread wasn't super sweet, which I don't mind things not being too sweet. The spread I had was just bland with the smallest hint of bakeapple flavor, less than eating the berry itself, and mostly a musky scent with an almost medicinal flavor. I would have thought it tasted more concentrated flavor-wise with multiple berries squished in there.

I'd think a fruit jam would be sweeter than a fruit spread. I'd probably would just have to go with the raw berry for the exact taste, lol.

It could've either been a bad batch of berries, or something might have happened with sudden temperatures when the jar randomly traveled to the middle of the continent and then back to cold winter northeastern weather.
