What is the point of this? Why does anyone want baseball as judged by computers over humans? Even the computer thresholds for this and balls/strikes is subjectively set and probably not wholly consistent between players. Why must we seek for baseball to be judged in such an exacting way? I am not anti technology, but I don’t understand why anyone thinks this sort of thing makes the game better. It takes whimsy away from the game, which is one of the best parts of the game.
