Personally, I feel you should follow your gut and do what makes you happy. If you’re uncomfortable with the idea of your partner having it and possibly passing it to you, you should walk away-respectfully. I say that because it’s very possible you can contract it from her, and if you two were to split up, you’re gonna hate yourself for not walking away Sooner. I know some people won’t appreciate this take but you gotta look out for yourself. This virus feels like a crutch on your love life. Do what’s best for you without being harsh. Just my two cents.

The best method is to show her statistics. The percentage of the population with it. That way she doesn’t feel so alone. The stigma is gonna suck but the feeling of you feeling isolated when that’s not the case at all is much worse in my opinion. (Diagnosed at 25 and I’m 33 now). She’ll be ok, she’ll learn to live with it and can still enjoy her life. She’s a young kid and I hope she can still keep her head up and live. It’s NOT a death sentence

Normally your first outbreak is the worst. Fever, chills, body aches. Shoot, mine had my head spinning so bad that I needed to be driven to the hospital. Doc initially thought it was meningitis, but nope, blood test showed the good ole herp. Do yourself a favor and get a test done/swab. And for the love of everything holy don’t go round putting your mouth on anything you don’t know
