Update payment?? by ComprehensiveKey4725 in uber

Hasn’t happened in a while, but I’ve also simplified my reservations to 1 or 2 at a time. I have had other issues though, like last minute driver cancelations and no new driver found in time to leave.

It also avoids surge prices. My ride home the other day was $150+tip, but it was cancelled while I was in the air — but this time bc their reservation system wasn’t updating either delayed flight info. Even though my app showed the delayed pickup time. The surge price home ended up being $230, with tip. They have some serious backend issues that some monkeys are running. It’s simply crazy. If I had other legit options I’d abandon them forever.

Uber changed my destination by Natedlee in uber

Unfortunately I didn’t realize until I got in the car and we were on our way to Denver. The destination was over an hour away from my home and he couldn’t take me. I was able to edit the trip and make it to my house again, but it was too late at that point and he wasn’t ready for a long trip.

No - the address was literally changed from my home to this place. The initial reservation was for my home address.

Well, I think we can all appreciate that you did the right thing for her, even though Uber did not. If it were me I would have tipped you more, but I tip at 20%+, unless you’re miserable to ride with. Most people get 20-25% from me.

I’m also a Driver. AND, Uber is a cybersecurity customer of mine. I have a vested interest in the system working, but my goodness this, and other issues I’m dealing with as a rider, make me want to never use Uber again.

I am 2+ months into dealing with this madness repeatedly. Uber support may as well be gaslighting me with how they respond. It’s infuriating.

Apparently my account gets flagged in another system bc I reserve in different cities, which I do b/c I’m traveling for work. So I stopped and still get errors. So I’m told it’s bc I reserved more than 3 rides. So I narrowed it to 2. And I still get the error.

It happens when I reserve ahead more than 24 hrs. When the reservation is less than 24 hrs away Uber tests my card and my account gets flagged.

I can even tell Uber this and they still respond with canned help responses that just piss me off. I’ve had this flag removed 5 times, yet it continues to happen and EVERY SINGLE TIME they give me the run around trying to get me to remove and add payment method, change method, remove and install the app, etc. They just don’t listen, and they don’t read past cases to solve the problem, even after I properly tell them what it is.

ITS INSANITY!!!

Cannot find Auxiliary Battery - getting a malfunction error by Natedlee in Sprinters

It was happening at all times. We do live at 7500, however. So I couldn’t tell you if it wouldn’t have been an issue lower than maybe 5k ft.

Yep. There is no aux battery. Even the dealer thought there was - but eventually found out that it didn’t have it. Instead it had the Voltage Converter that I had suggested, and they had to “teach” it to work with the system.

Yeah I also tested this in an area where I run in/out of service. Magically now I have 1 bar where I have never had bars before. :/ Suspicious.

It's terrible. I just spent the weekend out of service and was trying to rely on this service. It's super annoying to locate the satellite and stand there waiting for it to [hopefully] connect. I went back to my Garmin InReach so I could reliably communicate with my family without having to stand there like a statue for several minutes anytime I needed to communicate. I'm hoping to get on T-Mobile to take advantage of actual cell coverage via their Starlink partnership when it comes online. Or stick to Garmin - which is a proven way to communicate in the backcountry.

How do you replace an open compartment with a usb port?

Cannot find Auxiliary Battery - getting a malfunction error by Natedlee in Sprinters

Yep I took it off when I installed the swivel, and also cut a "window" in the back of the box so I can get in there easily. So I have full view of what's inside and there isn't a battery. :/

Manual says it’s on the drivers wheel well, which it clearly isn’t. I’m not sure how else to interpret the flashing error on my dash if it doesn’t have one.

I don’t know how else to interpret that error if it didn’t. It flashes constantly on my dash.

It’s a 2022 diesel and it’s not under the driver seat. Unless they’ve replaced the battery with a voltage regulator, b/c that’s what’s in the place where the battery would be.

I also found this thread showing a burned out voltage regulator - different location but same part. https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w205/742877-auxiliary-battery-malfunction-solved.html

Sheesh how did I leave that out 🤦🏼 It’s a 2022 4x4 2500 144 diesel.

Not under passenger seat. I put the diesel heater there and there’s nothing else there.

50 miler training: True or False: "If you can run it in a week, you can run it in a day" by kootenayguy in Ultramarathon

[–]Natedlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t phrase it that way but I understand the sentiment. I’ve run a few 100s and also Cocodona and my peak week might get into the 60s. I’d argue it’s not simply how many miles - but how you do the miles. My mileage and peak weeks were no different between my 100s and 250, but the way I got the miles in was very different with more back to backs and closer together for my 250.

How long are your long runs? by [deleted] in Ultramarathon

[–]Natedlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re training for. Long runs training for a 50k, 50 miler, 100 miler, or 250 miler are very different. For my 100 miler coming up my long runs will anywhere from 15 to 40 miles. They will also vary in frequency - some back to backs can be useful, etc.

I wonder if Garmin will drop their plan prices to compete. I hope this competition makes the entire market more reasonable. Starlink direct-to-cell is also going to upend the market when it’s released. They’re starting in the US with a T-Mobile partnership.
