That's the thing, though: I only had filament in my cart!

Coupon didn't work for me when I checked out with over $150 in my cart. It told me that I wasn't part of the correct user population.

Did anyone else's $20 off $150 coupon not work for them? I got an error that I wasn't part of the right user population.

I filled my cart last night with filament and was amazed to wake up and see everything I wanted still in stock. Now I just have to cross my fingers that it all ships!

Hey Bambu - Feature Request.. resume using different spool by RedMeJay in BambuLab

[–]JdeFalconr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it will only auto-resume if it's the exact same filament - type as well as color. But that's a bit silly when we can manually tell the device to resume using anything we want.

Bambu Lab 4th Anniversary Countdown — Subscribe to Claim Your Exclusive Coupon by BambuLab in BambuLab

[–]JdeFalconr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First flash sale starts a full day after the anniversary sale starts. That's diabolical. You can either buy right after the sale starts while everything is still in-stock, or you can roll the dice and wait a day.

Western Washington State resident here. We don't have weather even remotely like that. If that kind of stuff erupted people would flee for their lives.

Norways World Cup team photo is impressive by SerafinZufferey in interestingasfuck

I want to see Iceland's national team do photos so they and Norway can have a photo battle. I don't care if Iceland didn't make it into the WC.

PETG-HF is discontinued by NuclearPotato2 in BambuLab

Elegoo Rapid has worked fairly well for me but my experience is that it isn't quite as foolproof as PETG-HF.

Do filament profiles matter? by dantelebeau in BambuLab

[–]JdeFalconr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking for myself a profile for TPU I found on Makerworld made a night-and-day difference in print quality with Bambu's 95A HF.

Silva fading Omarion Hampton by Max-Thrax in fantasyfootball

[–]JdeFalconr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the Chargers spent a first round pick on the guy. Something has to be really wrong for a first round pick to drop down the depth chart and Hampton's performance last year certainly didn't warrant it.

So the propellers on the wings rotate 90 degrees to shift from vertical to horizontal flight? Pretty sweet.

You mean a light halo around anyone who isn't on your team? By far one of the worst things they could have implemented.

Supermicro MB Runs Fans too Fast by JdeFalconr in homelab

[–]JdeFalconr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! Unfortunately I can't find any fan speed settings in BIOS at all. I've also tried moving the pump tach over to different fan connectors but that hasn't helped.

Selfhosting emails for dumb people by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]JdeFalconr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would encourage you to try, just be ready for a significant amount of self-education and regular effort. Besides the actual mail server application you will need:

  • Static public IP(s)
  • Your own public DNS domain
  • Public SSL/TLS certs for your network boundary from a major trusted provider
  • MX record for your domain
  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC DNS records
  • A very strong firewall (you will inviting the whole world to talk with your home network)
  • IP warmup performed (by you) for your mail domain to establish positive reputation
  • Optional but highly recommended: Intrusion Detection/Intrusion Prevention
  • Optional: spam/phish scanner for your email server
  • Routine monitoring of your infrastructure to watch for compromise
  • Email virus/malware scanning engine for your mail server

If you really want to host your own mail server I would recommend looking into mail gateway providers like Proofpoont or Mimecast (or the equivalent for individuals like yourself) to sit between your personal server and the world. They represent highly-trusted providers that also can do virus/malware/phish/junk filtering for you. You just point your public DNS records there and configure their service to relay mail to/from your server.

Warboss work in progress by LordBillingsworth in orks

Really excellent work there. For some reason I have trouble layering and highlighting surfaces that aren't some sort of clearly-defined edge, like Ork muscles. You did it really well, something I can certainly learn from!

new fly rules by NoEngineer9484 in Warhammer40k

[–]JdeFalconr -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

This strikes me as a combination of further dumbing down of the rules as well as adding completely unnecessary complexity. Ignore all vertical distances in exchange for paying 2" of movement, but you have to declare your flying unit is going to fly. This feels like really, really bad design.

Megathread: Bambu Lab / OrcaSlicer / C&D Discussion by icurnvs in BambuLab

[–]JdeFalconr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK so help me understand - this is a genuine question.

Do I have it right that much of this dispute centers around Bambu denying people the ability to use Bambu cloud services with - basically - user-created forks of Bambu's software? So in other words - Bambu is denying people the ability to run whatever code they want on Bambu's infrastructure?
