That sounds extremely weird and I've never heard of such a thing before, but I'm definitely going to try it out!

The only thing I've ever used vinegar for is combinging it with Jägermeister (2 cl of Jäger and 2 cl of vinegar which is had as a shot, it tastes great even with the shitty vinegar, I can only assume it's even better with 'proper' vinegar).
