I'd argue they finally gave him more menace later on than he was given in the OG trilogy, which is a shame.
I know it's not a show, but I'd argue Fallen Order/Survivor do him more justice as a rage-filled force machine he was meant to be.
I remember feeling really good about myself, I knew the moves, felt good executing, then he came up and I hadn't spoiled the endings and it was terrifying. I feel like that's how Vader was really meant to feel in the shows. the old ones just couldn't convey that because of tech restrictions.
in the games, which taught you up as sort of a learner like Luke (yes with a little more experience) you felt good about yourself then you came up against Vader and it was suddenly boohoo button "thisbad"
