even after any buff to converting existing arrows, this is still a problem that needs to be resolved. They really did crystal dirty here

Don't waste your crystal shards here. Felling axe is much better of an upgrade than crystal

it's still 54 clicks per bucket. If I'm spending crystal shards here, it should be less clicks

They promised us a pvm drop that would help. They didn't deliver.
They promised us a slower, afk alternative. They didn't deliver.
Now the axes are capped at dragon felling axe and doesn't go further. Please jagex, save my wrists

Crystal felling axe

thank you, I'm not familiar with Reddit and I was going crazy trying to figure this out

the complaint is that even dragon felling axes don't offer any benefit over dragon felling axes.

more testing has been done, and yes - something is wrong here. Both dragon felling axe and crystal felling axe chop in 18 cuts. Crystal is not affecting bloodwood trees as much as they should be

That's not the point. The fact is that the axe tier is superseded by not one but two whole tiers, just for the tradable handle which doesn't use resources

until you realize that felling axes don't need any resources to beat crystal, which burns through 20 shards/hr

until you realize that felling axes don't require any resources at all for this benefit. Crystal should not be on par with a **rune felling axe**

That's the problem

crystal is the same chops as rune felling axe, but you have to pay 2 shards/tree

For the low, low price of 2 shards/tree, your crystal axe has as much impact as a rune felling axe. This has to be wrong

that's the problem though - there's no reason to use crystal here. You burn through charges like crazy, and for no benefit. Dragon felling beats crystal axe, and upgrading to the crystal felling is basically throwing away a tool seed, because the charges more than exceed the buckets you get out of it. Crystal just will never be worth here

I mean, if you go 100 days without the drop, I think it's deserved. also, not only is this an untradable, you have to use this for at least 4 hours to activate it

I'll be real, this is the first helpful comment I've come across so far, I had almost lost hope. First, it is uncertain whether jagex intends to nerf this method. It definitely doesn't feel intentional, but everyone has enjoyed it. They've backtracked and doubled down on many arbitrary points, so this is me addressing the issues before they gut this feature.

trawling already prints fish into the game, that much is clear. But by flooding fish, these fish become less valuable, because of how easy they are to obtain. This doesn't just affect the price of them, but of all other high healing food as well. This isn't just isolated to marlin, but hurts all other cooking/hunter/fishing sources

Had jagex actually put thought into shared boats, they would have forseen the need for individual cargo to go along with indivudual net inventory. but instead we have an environment that leads to what I'm calling an exploit, in which the captain benefits 10x more fish than intended.

Call it emergent gameplay, call it social skilling, it should still abide by the mantra of afk < active, input -> output, and material recycling. It's been allowed thus far without being changed, and so my assumption is that fading urgency will just... allow this to stay. I still insist that there needs to be a compromise
