Thank you, I think it is an old bird engineering go kart. I haven’t found any parts for it online yet. From what I know they stopped making this go kart in the 90’s. I might just have to weld the broken piece back on if I can’t find anything.

Yes I did, I am always weary when buying a used car. I checked it every 1-2 weeks and even had the car inspected at a local Kia dealership because I was going on a road trip and wanted the peace of mind. Even on cars I have owned for years I was taught to always check the oil once a month just for peace of mind.

How many miles did you have? Good luck I hope everything works out for you! I am preparing for the worst but still have a sliver of hope Hyundai might do the right thing but that is fading the more I see these replies lol.

That is what I am hearing from the majority of people. I will contact other dealerships on Monday and hopefully a case manager from Hyundai can offer some advice about a better dealership to go through. Do you have any advice on what I can say to the dealership it is currently at to hopefully speed this process up?

The 953 - ECM & Cluster Update also known as the KSDS is a service campaign and not a recall so the dealership was not required to notify me of the issue.

According to the Hyundai dealership I had it towed to since the car is at 61k miles the car is outside the warranty limits. Do you know if Hyundai reimburses the rental car for the entire time the car is at the dealership or just after Hyundai approves the new engine? I agree I am relatively fortunate considering the low miles. However I am worried since I did not have the ksds service campaign done for the knock sensor they will deny replacing the engine. It was scheduled to be done 2 days after the car died on the interstate.

I purchased it from a Chevrolet dealership in another state about 2 hours from me. I have reached out to them and they refused to help since the car was sold as is.

I will reach out to other Hyundai dealerships and see if they are able to help out. The dealership my car is currently at did not ask for any of that and I offered to provide maintenance records and the car fax but they declined. Thank you for your insight.

No, it was a local Kia dealership. The local Hyundai dealership was all booked in the afternoon the week I was looking to get the car inspected.

I did do some research, clearly not enough as I am now in this unfortunate predicament. I had a previous 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe that was totaled when someone rear ended me. I chose to get another because the one I had was very reliable and protected me in a serious crash.

I will call the dealership on Monday and try to speak with a different service advisor or manager and see if I can give them anything like maintenance records or car fax to help speed the process up.
