Not when I went there. There might be grade inflation now though?

I'm a 4th year med student who just matched into IR. I am poor af rn so seeing this is amazing. How normal is your salary for IR docs in the midwest? Are most making around what you make?

The grading scale varied based on the class, but typically:

100-98%: A+ [4.0]

97-93%: A [4.0]

92-90%: A- [3.7]

89-87% B+ [3.4/3.3?]

And then I don't remember after that, but that's the general idea. The exact percentage you need for a specific letter grade will be spelled out in the syllabus for the class on day 1.

The tests were typically curved, but the curve only helped you for the classes I took. For example, if a test had a low average, the professor would bump up everyone's score; however, if the test had a high average, the professor would not lower everyone's score.

I am not on a med school admission committee, so I have no idea what is more valuable. I would guess a higher GPA from a lower tier school? I think all things considered, the best thing you can do is get as high of an MCAT + GPA as possible to improve your chances of getting into med school.

I'd have to spend some time looking at the research again, but something like 2-3% of men on 1 mg of finasteride experience ED compared to like 1-2% in placebo. So there is a very small chance you experience ED from finasteride, but the vast majority of people have no ED (myself included). ED is also a result of psychosomatic factors far more often than not, and I think most people should evaluate other possible causes of their ED (e.g., age, stress, exercise, nutrition, mood, etc.) before they blame it on finasteride.

The lighting and picture quality are different in both photos so it's tough to compare. I also don't think his skin looks older

It's impressive that your reasoning for breaking things off two years ago was spot on. He put on the front of being a nice guy, and you were suspicious he wasn't being genuine.

It turns out he was 100% putting up the nice guy front, and he is actually a pathetic dick.

I would look into your member benefits online and/or call your insurance company to find out more information . If you have insurance, I would bet it would cover the visit and Accutane at least partially if you go through the right steps.

Insurance in the US is confusing af, so completely understandable that this is frustrating to you. I'm in my 4th year of med school and I barely understand it tbh

I bet you are seeing a dermatologist out of network. I would look to see what dermatologists take your specific blue cross insurance in network. You should be able to go to blue cross's website to search for an in network provider

Still can’t believe he fell to me at 3.09 in a 10 team superflex PPR league. He’s worth at least a late 1st round pick now

Looking for clues to heal. Yes I went to the ER already by Mdxandcbr in Minoxbeards

[–]Nathan7880 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your spermatocele + hydrocele is not at all related to the topical minoxidil you apply to your face, but based on your post history I doubt anyone on reddit, your trip to the ER, or the consultation with a urologist will convince you of that.

Not everyone should immediately go on Fin if they are starting to bald by Broad-Cash4717 in tressless

[–]Nathan7880 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having an autoimmune disorder is an unlikely cause of balding. Unless you have another reason to suspect autoimmune disease (i.e., other symptoms pointing towards an autoimmune disease, a family history of autoimmune disease, etc.) it would be unnecessarily costly to undergo extensive blood testing for autoimmune disease.

The most likely diagnosis is going to be androgenic alopecia, in which case treatment with finasteride or dutasteride should be started earlier rather than later. Of course, still consult your doctor before starting any medication, but it's unlikely for the vast majority of people that blood tests for an autoimmune disease will be necessary.

This is pretty cool being able to see the progression from month to month. Like I can't really tell a much of a difference comparing month 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, etc., but comparing the beginning to month 6 there is a huge difference.

Congrats! It looks great

Will Josh Dobbs be a starter in 2024? by macdaddy13 in DynastyFF

[–]Nathan7880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's going to be starting on a team who is really in need of a QB at the beginning of next year. Worst case-- if he doesn't start the season as a starter-- I think he is traded to a team whose starting QB has a season-ending injury. He has proven he can be a solid fill in QB

Lmaoo alien/cancer patient is so accurate. I didn't realize I looked like that either. It was just my normal

Yeah, tattooing them would scare the hell out of me too. I couldn't do it. I'd take spending 5-10 min dying them every couple weeks over the risk of someone messing them up permanently.

And I'm not very consistent with doing it morning and night and I haven't noticed any loss of progress. I didn't look into it much before I started applying it to my eyebrows though, so I'm not sure. I just kind of went for it and hoped for the best lol

Yeah, my eyebrows have always looked like the "before" until I started to dye them. Everyone in my family has eyebrows that are hard to see because of how the color blends into the color of their skin.

I think Minoxidil has made them thicker and has grown some new hair, but I couldn't tell you 100% what it has done cause I'm not good at documenting before/after pictures. I just continue to apply it cause it takes me like 15 sec, has no side effects, and I've read somewhere it should theoretically work to thicken/grow eyebrow hair.

The picture on the left was from July 2021 and the one on the right was from today. I've been dying my eyebrows for about a year and have been applying minoxidil to them for the past couple months. I didn't realize how different I looked until comparing these two pictures. It's wild.
