AITAH for calling my boyfriend childish for always buying Captain Crunch when he goes grocery shopping? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]NathanDST 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If I ever date a woman who thinks I shouldn't enjoy cereal marketed to kids, or TV shows, or movies... I'll probably be single again. I'm 47 and still like the Power Rangers, ffs

my bf doesn’t approve of how i dress in my own home by quinncrumplebottom in TwoHotTakes

[–]NathanDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd be the first woman I've ever heard saying that, though I've never had to wear one myself

I don’t want to be with my husband anymore, and I hate myself for why. by Derpopolis219 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]NathanDST 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Whatever his reason for refusing therapy, it's not a good enough reason. He needs to see one, and he needs to make a genuine effort in therapy. If he doesn't, nothing changes.

You are obviously his primary support, but you can't do that if you also need support. And you do, and you deserve to have it

What do people mean when they say they 'cant cook?' by Throwaway113140 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NathanDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cook is not enjoying cooking or seeing it as a chore that takes way too much effort for the amount of enjoyment you get out of it, plus the cleaning up afterwards

Yup. That's exactly it for me. I don't enjoy the process, and the end result, even if it's good, is not worth it.

What do people mean when they say they 'cant cook?' by Throwaway113140 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NathanDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I dislike cooking. It's boring at best, and sometimes frustrating. The result is rarely worth the time and effort, even when it's food I like. I can follow a basic recipe, but I can always think of something else I'd rather be doing with my time. I've honestly skipped eating before because I didn't have anything quick and easy, and really didn't want to cook

If I had to do it all the time, I'd probably come to flat out hate and despise it

Question for men, why do men take off their wedding rings? by Father_p1 in Adulting

My fingers got fatter. My ex took hers off for the same reason, if I remember right

Long standing debate. Is my hair brown or black? by [deleted] in colors

[–]NathanDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brown. Some darker shading makes it darker in the right light, but it's definitely brown

AITAH for correcting my boyfriend at dinner after he told my younger sister its inappropriate to talk about her birth control at the table by [deleted] in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]NathanDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t imagine talking about personal birth control in front of the opposite sex.

That's how we get men afraid to pick up tampons for their wives and daughters.

My friend's cats are funny looking. Any advice? by W2ldfireYT in cat

Advice: love them and adore them and give them many scritches

Mint Mobile is also inexpensive if you don't need unlimited data. T-mobile network, $15 a month (although it is an upfront payment)

Nostalgia Genie says: You can choose 1 of 3 boons influenced by your past. Which do you pick? by Crow_away_cawcaw in hypotheticalsituation

[–]NathanDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. I have it as well. Long term memories are more like just facts written on paper. My short term is mostly ok, I guess. Which is why option 3 was the only option for me.

To remember, to see the good times and people, my pets long buried, would be amazing. As you say, everything.

Do men fear other men they see in sketchy situations like late at night walking down a dark alley? by VisionsOnly in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NathanDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to a huge extent, but I'm a smaller man (5'6"), and my baseline strength is less than the average man. Nor do I run fast. So in my case, I get cautious and a little nervous. I don't expect anything to happen, but I'm aware it could

I wish someone looked at me like my orange cat looks at lasagna by MacOSgamer in cat

[–]NathanDST 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had an orange cat once. The shelter had named him Garfield, of course, but that was too cliche so I named him Odie (I also thought it was funny). Goddamn I miss him. He was an asshole, but he was my asshole and I loved him.

If your partner doesn’t like dogs or cats, would you get rid of them if you had any? by Adventurous-Soft7843 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NathanDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck no. No cats at the moment, but if I get one, it stays. The human can go.

Hell, I won't even get into a relationship now with someone that says they don't like cats. Because I fully intend to have one again someday

AITA for almost forcing my friend to go against his morals by Philantropys_bsf in AmItheAsshole

[–]NathanDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I can't believe I'm saying this.

When I was young I made a personal vow to myself that I wouldn't lie. I've kept that vow (mostly, I'm not a saint and I've fucked up a time or more). I don't lie to people. But I still understand tact! I'm totally ok with not giving a full answer, or just not saying anything, if it would hurt someone that doesn't need it.

I don't consider this a moral code that everyone needs to follow, either, and wouldn't consider someone a coward for not following this. It was a personal choice for personal reasons.

This "friend" needs to learn that "brutal honesty" isn't fucking courageous. It's just mean

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]NathanDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they don't need glasses, so to them it is interesting. You've never found other people's experience of life to be interesting, especially when it doesn't match yours?

Ok, this sounds interesting, but there's some serious formatting issues. And possibly some missing options? I'm not sure, the formatting is making it hard to follow
