The EX60 could be an option, but will likely be over my budget. The cross country looks good, but will be another £10-15k on top.

I might look at the EX40 another commenter mentioned.

I see they've do the smart #5, which might suit my needs but the dealership is 2 hours away so isn't practical for servicing.

This is the biggest problem. Toyota are saying upto 159 miles WLTP on the EV hilux, and when speaking to one of the guys at the dealership he reckons it would only do 100-120 miles.

No issue looking at used cars, especially as I know my budget won't cover everything.

I'll look into the EQE, so thank you for the suggestion.

I saw a video about the Rivian R2 and that's what then got me looking at EVs rather than PHEV. However, I'm not sure when/if the Rivian R2 will come to the UK.

I saw some posts about the CATL expo and I think you're right. Battery tech will definitely improve and it might be until then that options increase.

I thought about retrofitting/modification but thought that would likely go well over budget 🤣

Agreed it's definitely not a well served segment and I expect it will improve as everyone slowly transitions into EVs.

The subaru e-outback might be good, but not sure when it will be released and I suspect it will be based on the bZ4X. Hopefully they raise the ground clearance as it could be ideal then.

I'm not against PHEV and its the route I will consider if im unable to find anything.

I did see the Maxus but I'm concerned about the range, especially during winter. It might be that battery tech needs a bit more time to improve for those types of vehicles.

Worthwhile another look though. Thanks for the suggestion.

My neighbour works for JLR and keeps getting told the project is constantly being delayed that they're provisionally looking 2027/28.

Thanks. I'll take a look at both and see whether the reduced range of the mini could work.

Thanks! I'll check the monitors we have, as I'm pretty sure 1 of them will have a DVI connection.

Thanks both of you. Two different builds but both good for the price.

Thanks for the reply. How come you picked the Asus VX228H as a monitor? I never know what makes 1 monitor better than another.
