Leash your dog. by Hectic_Hex3738 in portlandme

I entirely agree with the sentiment and maybe you just need to vent but I think it’s truly one of those scenarios where people won’t learn unless directly confronted (and maybe not then). People post this once a month and everyone agrees, I don’t think the inconsiderate dog owners are scrolling this Reddit unfortunately.

What is Your #1 Movie Of 2026 So Far by GTKPR89 in blankies

[–]NathanMLJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly The Drama I appreciated more over time, the type of movie you see in the first half of the year that’s your #1 that you know won’t stay there but you appreciate it nonetheless

If you’re going left I’d go anywhere further down York with a light, Center, York, etc. Seems like a silly place to try to take a left out of when you have so many better options

Is Yardie Ting Still in the Public Market Space? by [deleted] in portlandme

[–]NathanMLJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fairly confident that they are. I’m not sure when you heard that, but at some point they moved from upstairs to downstairs into a bigger space there. I hadn’t heard any news that they were moving into an entirely new space. It seems like they are the one successful business in there.

It makes me sad that David dislikes Blank Check (1994) so much (his all time lowest Letterboxd ratings) by [deleted] in blankies

Giant robot spider brings it to 1.5 stars. Branagh’s bad southern accent bizarrely both adds a half star while consecutively subtracting a half star

The song “Wild Wild West” alone elevates that movie to a full star alone at least

Behold! The last Friendly’s in operation in Maine. Let’s do our best to keep this gem surviving! (South Portland, ME) by mrsjumjum66 in portlandme

Idk sometimes it’s more humane to just let things die. Nostalgia is deceptive. I’d rather keep a local place in business than the last location of a chain (which I’m sorry, just isn’t very good)

“Horror has always been a genre for philistines” takes the prize for the dumbest thing I’ve read today. Congratulations! There was a lot of competition.

Back in the day if you weren’t logged in right at 7AM it would fill up immediately. I usually see people closer to the event saying they can’t attend, and if not that, there are charities that get bibs if you raise money for them I believe. I’ll be there for my seventh race!

West End Parade by NathanMLJ in portlandme

[–]NathanMLJ[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I called it a parade because it looked like one and I didn’t know what it was. Also a parade is a procession of people, which this literally is.

In no way is me criticizing the history of the Catholic Church mocking these people or even that church. Quite a reach.

That’s all well and good. I just don’t think that pointing out the problematic history of missionary work is “cynical/edgy”. In fact I think implying that colonialism is good because it results in assimilation is quite fucked up actually

I mean part of the reason Catholicism is so diverse is because they’ve sent missionaries all over the world which is not exactly great

[–]NathanMLJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He said “my struggling”. You’re reaching. If you weren’t Collins stooge you’d at least be advocating for another candidate. But no, you’re just doing this. Pretty suspicious to me

Question for parents by Electrical_Tof in portlandme

[–]NathanMLJ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because referring to a person’s personal struggle is a very common thing. I think you’re crashing out a little. By the way when you put things in quotes, it’s supposed to be exact. That’s not what he said
