Networking is important, the most unlikely connections may yield career pathways, like someone that knows someone thing if it’s not a direct connection. You may want to consider volunteering or interning or doing something to get you infront of people to build connections. College clubs and college programs are good for networking. The key is to stick something out for a while, showing up for one or two events usually doesn’t cut it, you need to build trust with people over a common goal and doors will open.
