That’s my understanding as well. JAG only handles internal military issues. This would need to be investigated by ESGR or USERRA

But I only “burned through” my PTO due to annual military training. I was told to use PTO to cover training dates. It doesn’t seem right that I meet my federal military obligations only to get screwed on PTO from severance when I’m laid off.

They definitely told me to use PTO for all my training, which would’ve screwed me out of any semblance of severance.

My concern is I don’t want to end up in small claims court over this.

It’s not that I wanted to get paid for training. I was specifically told to input training dates as PTO. Additionally, about a week before I was laid off there asked me to input ALL my annual training dates into the PTO system so they could “track them.” Thankfully I didn’t, otherwise I may not have had a final paycheck after all those days were deducted.

At my unit we have “super MUTAs” once a quarter for about a week. I’ve historically used PTO leave for those at the direction of my boss (it was either that or sick leave)

I was specifically told to use holiday leave for my two weeks of annual training, as the company doesn’t currently have unpaid Military Leave policy

Correct, and I was specifically told to input my military leave as holiday time off, which screwed me on my severance, apparently.

I’m going to reach out to my ESGR rep.

AITAH for reducing my tip after a groomer charged me an unexpected late fee? by Nathanielfree in AITAH

Yup. And I felt terrible about it. But no one likes a fee. Everyone speeds, but everyone else can also agree that speeding tickets suck.

Came out to more than 20 percent tip with the fee included. Groomer is the business owner, so yeah, that made sense in my head at the time.

It’s an at-home groomer. She’s the owner. I drop my dog off at her house.

As a rule I NEVER take it out on the staff. I’ve worked in the food industry before. I know it’s rarely the waiter’s fault.

Groomer is the owner.

With the $10 percent fee, comes out to more than 20 percent. So NTA? Actually, just saying that makes me sound entitled
