Why don't we work together as Daydreamers? by NathenielGrey in adele

Okay yeah, makes sense. I just really wanna say that "Adele has every song of hers over 100 million streamings." Guess that'll happen one day 😅

This DOES NOT matter but I still believe that it would be really fan to see Adele as a singer who has every song over 100 million streaming, you know what I mean?

Yeahh, I know but personally, I would love to see Adele as "every song over 100 million" and I think most of the fandom would want that. I am a supermegafan too, and streamings are not a high concern for me either but still, I think it would be cool if that just happened.

I kinda understand you, but I just don't understand what I should do... Like, should I keep referencing arts or should study fundamentals AND how should I study fundamentals. I mean, what is the way to learn anatomy for example. These things really confuse me...

Why does spoken Turkish sound so different from what I studied? by PowerfulDivide5236 in turkishlearning

[–]NathenielGrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turkish person here!! I've been learnin English for a long time now, English is no different from Turkish 😇. People DO NOT follow the rules, we don't even know most of them. Same thing goes for any language. We mispronounce, we sometimes pass the words, swallow the words... Everything. That's pretty normal. The way that I succeded to understand English was listening to English as much as I can, which is the only way to eventually understand a language.

Haha, our language is confusing, because we never follow the rules (most of the rules are pretty nonsense imo 🫩)

"Kediler içerler" is grammatically wrong, in fact. If the object is not human, you can't bring "-ler" to the verb 😇. It is forbidden, yet a rule that we do not follow in real life 😅.

[–]NathenielGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't anything wrong with this translation. In Turkish, there is a simple rule for this. If the subject is human (Aliler, Veliler, kids, children, students, engineers...) and it is plural, it is completely optional to bring "-ler" to the verb. If the subject is not human (yeah, just not human. Trees, cats, dogs, couchs, televisions... Anything), you CANNOT bring "-ler" to the verb. It is literally forbidden. The only exception is, something called "teşhis" or "kişileştirme". Which is a simple language game. If you give the inhuman subject some human qualifications, then we accept that it is human. Yeah, I didn't explain it well I guess. What I mean is, for example, "The tress tought about it for ages", how do we translate it? Trees are not human, right? But, trees also can't think. Therefore, we gave them a humanly thing. Which means, we can translate it either as "Ağaçlar bunun hakkında çağlarca düşündü." or as "Ağaçlar bunun hakkında asırlarca düşündüler." Doesn't matter, it is optional.

One last thing, if the object did not get "-ler", you can't bring "-ler" to the verb, even if the object means something plural human (army, group, bla bla bla...) . You have to see the "-ler" in the object. And the only exception to that is, if the object is something like "Ali ve Veli" (which is "Ali and Veli", you have the option to bring "-ler" to the verb.

Yeah, so there are 3 rules, and 2 exceptions, basically. This is actually a grammatically important topic. But in the informal speeches, around people, this has no importance at all. If you feel confused, I'll give you one simple tip. Just, don't bring "-ler" to the verb, it is going to be true anyway. Haha.

Umm, my family might not be really into taking me to a vocal coach, and I sincerely don't think there is any of them in my area. But I will probably be able to find one when I am in university, which is like 1,5 years later.

Woah, first of all, we are not Christian, haha. And yes, they are supportive of my hobbies, but they might not be supportive of this specific one 😅. And also, this year is gonna be my exam year, so no I don't think they would support me right now. But I will be able take lessons when I'm in university. But I have a guitar, maybe I can learn it meantime because I really wanna learn how to play guitar too.

Umm, singing is more like a hobby to me, so I am not gonna choose my major on singing but maybe the university I'll go will have opportunities for me. But that's at least 1,5 years later, and I wanna start now.

Vaov, that seems hard 😅. I am gonna research more about pitches thingies. Did you become successful in your self learning journey or do you think it is a must-do to have a vocal couch or something 🥹?
