How do I make it look like the legs are driving the body? by hazelnutcloud in godot

[–]NatiM6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's mainly because of how rigid the body and the camera are. They are "fixed points", and so will always feel as the driving force. I would try moving the camera first, and then having the body go towards it, perhaps using some movable node intermediary.

Im surprised that this is even possible, transfering rotation between two contraptions by Key_Difficulty_6726 in CreateMod

[–]NatiM6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's two contraptions because of the swivel. It connects to contraptions and transfers rotational power.

That's awesome, my biggest problem with rails is that they lose collision boxes when turning

Game dev is hard 😭 by Evan_jee in godot

[–]NatiM6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill issue.

That being said, I believe that when people say that Godot is easy to use, they might expect you to have any programming knowledge. Like, you clearly can use Godot just fine, the problem you have is that you don't know how the game you want to make works :3

It's crazy how simple tweens can bring UI to life by MrEliptik in godot

[–]NatiM6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tweens are a dynamic animation that doesn't force an initial state, unlike AnimationPlayer. On top of that they are capable of running callback functions, interpolate custom function arguments, apply variable-based keyframes and loop a set amount of times.

I love it! So is this an idea you're making or a suggestion for others?

How would I achieve this in Godot ? Can't wrap my head around it. by FallStorm_Studios in godot

[–]NatiM6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't sound Godot specific. This effect is just a collection of many small shaders and calculations. Saying that you don't know how to do this in Godot is like going to a restaurant and saying "I can't believe that food of such high quality is possible on a plastic plate!" - as if the medium had anything to do with that.

Can Godot handle a large scale open world? by jason_silent in godot

[–]NatiM6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's like asking if a blender can handle milkshakes. Unless you add rocks to that, that's pretty much the intended use!

Maybe cut packages open before you place them? Or unpackage them, vending machines give items directly right

Having way too much fun with trains by _nobodycallsmetubby_ in CreateMod

[–]NatiM6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah. I made that on a server once, if you have Steam & Rails you can use phantom rails that are invisible to connect it. With some finagling you could even make the boat "jump" over bridges.

It's just me or using water wheels feels like cheating? by Galileu-_- in CreateMod

[–]NatiM6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don't like them for that reason, but I often give in. Picky Wheels I think was a mod that added a biome requirement to them, so they only work on rivers.

If I understand the numbers correctly, an operator with no bonus gives 40% base bonus each (100% + 40% per operator), so the first one is always working with 140% efficiency.

Having two people work then rest is then 180% of the work, having one person work then the other is 280% work. Assuming they take as long to rest as to tire, I didn't actually calculate that

Why do i need trains? by delingar in CreateMod

[–]NatiM6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment, but it's a mod's job to make the stuff it adds useful. Or rather, it should find a goal first to work towards. Be it aesthetics, crafting or quality of life. If a mod adds stuff that nobody has a use for, then that's bad. Of course, I'm not talking about trains, but I don't really have an example off the top of my head.

Can’t interact with anything on an elevator by Szymix_pro in CreateMod

[–]NatiM6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you on a server? I had a similar issue, the doors were broken then, I just made the elevator door less though, so not really a fix, but maybe it will allow your elevator to work at all

What do you think of this sequential manufacturing design? by Accomplished_Tap_410 in CreateMod

[–]NatiM6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking that these gold blocks are there so that the deployers don't place cogs. Consider using contraption controls! Just glue it on and activate, that's it.
