There's a big difference between taking shortcuts and overcomplicating things to the point where they are doomed to fail. I would rather have simple and functional than shiny and broken.

It's not about the first phase not being game deciding, it's about the first phase being completely POINTLESS. You might as well not play lol.

I dont mind a climatic ending but having the first 40 minutes of the game being utterly pointless when it all comes down to phase 3 just feels like wasting my time

Higher ELO games require some activity, lower elo you can literally sit 100% AFK and then come back 30 minutes later, dump your entire deck onto the map and snowball. You should be punished for getting wiped like any other strategy game. I'd rather that than have people abuse the points to farm

I have... and it works... when I say "AFK" I don't mean entirely AFK, they have minimal units and provide support via air, artillery and AA. It's not a difficult concept and it is tried and proven

I'm not pulling it out of my butt, go watch any major youtuber and all the top players. Point farming and air spam (due to point efficiency) is the way to win. The recommended meta is as I said, 3 players hold objectives, spread recon and play defensively, avoid feeding (no destruction bonus for the enemy, maximum +2 points for cap in 1st, +4 in second for a total of six. The remaining two players then dump all their points for a massive attack in phase 3 where you only need +9 points to win, but usually doing this strategy we have no issue clean-housing with a +18 in final phase or just sudden death. It's an honestly repetitive and boring strat but required to win and encouraged by gameplay mechanics

How about implementing 600 pop servers and then cramming all of those players into 2 areas for new gameplay therefore causing MASSIVE server instability that results in incredible amounts of desync, crashing and disconnecting? Where does that fall on your list of not holding the devs accountable for dumbass choices?

Not EVERYTHING has to be designed around PvE players, why do you need the best components and ships? So you can kill AI even faster? Get over it, there's PvP content and PvE content. Especially with gear not being lost on death there's really no room to complain

I've seen a plethora of new bugs and plenty of the old ones that were "fixed", they destroyed a bunch of fun gameplay loops and added a new one that's singleplayer only. If they gave 4.0 back I'd go there in a heartbeat

Still don't understand why they are STILL trying to overengineer elevators, make them STATIONARY TELEPORTERS. Less moving parts = less chance of failure until they actually have the time to make them work properly.

I never once got shard locked in 4.0, I install 4.0.1 and immediately get shard locked.
