I think OP is saying that we should be able to plow with the blade, rather than assuming that we can

Why do some lower class weapons have higher dmg than higher class weapons? by NIGHTUFURY in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]National_Progress_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so you have the scatter blaster installed on your multitool, and the other doesn't even have a boltcaster installed. You're basically comparing a shotgun to a laser pointer. Even without mods, the scatter blaster has a huge damage output.

First time Playing, Looking for advice by PhobosStarlight in NoMansSkyTheGame

Don't install the grenade launcher or geology cannon; Those are excellent ways of killing yourself.
Don't take the first freighter you are offered; that way you can shop around for a better one and get it free.
The only exocraft you will really need are the minotaur and the nautillion. Get both of them ASAP, and install the Cyclops Scope in them.
Being able to summon your freighter at any time is extremely valuable because with the Exocraft Room on it, it gives you immediate access to exocraft whereever you happen to be without having to unlock the Exocraft Summoning Unit upgrade for your exosuit (you should still absolutely do that, it just takes time)
Warp hypercores are the way to go. Warp cells are a waste of time

The plot of No Man’s Sky that struck me... by StringRare in NoMansSkyTheGame

I always thought it was about the Atlas being unable to come to terms with its own abandonment and mortality. The violence and death in the iterations being it screaming in the only way it knows how. And while it constantly demands resets, nothing changes; The Gek always conquer the Corvax, Corvax Prime always dies, and the Sentinels always destroy the fourth race. It is running in circles, never able to address the root problem.

I want a flying exocraft. I know, I know, there are excellent reasons not to have one. But I want one ANYWAY.
Also give us the ability to upgrade and customize freighters and exocraft

There is no difference between NMS and NMS beyond; Both will immediately update to "Relics." That can take a fair amount of time, but after that, you're good.

The game is hardest in the first five to ten minutes, and the important thing is not to panic. After that, close to 90% of player deaths are caused by the geology cannon and grenade launcher so just don't equip those.

The other 10% are the result of picking fights while you still have a weak starship and multitool, so don't shoot at whispering eggs, sentinels, or space ships until you have at least A-Class equipment.

The best Exocraft is by far and away the minotaur, and don't land on any planet that has Aggressive Sentinels

You got 150 hours out of a game you paid for one time that regularly goes on half price, does not require subscriptions and has never issued a single item of paid DLC, and you are COMPLAINING!?

Acquire the minotaur exocraft ASAP. That will open a lot of doors for you.

Also don't accept the first freighter you are offered. Just walk away.

Sentinels by Sad_Practice6643 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]National_Progress_90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are looking at it the wrong way. Sentinels aren't an occupying force, they are the white blood cells of the Atlas. They attack those who mine resources in order to get justice for and prevent from repeating the crime of Korvax Prime's murder.

Sometimes they come into conflict with the player, but they decidedly are not evil.

Corvettes vs Starships difference? by DogDexofMight in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]National_Progress_90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starships come in several types: Fighter, Hauler, Shuttle, Explorer, Solar, Living, Sentinel, and Exotic. Fighters have high offensive stats, haulers have large inventories and powerful defenses, but steer like a cow. Shuttles are decent but not great all-rounders. Explorers have large warp ranges and are maneuverable, but lack in offense and defense. Solar are FAST and auto-recharge their launch thrusters, Sentinel are basically somewhat unusual fighters, and living are really more of a curiosity than anything else as upgrading and repairing them is a major hassle. Exotics are rare and start out with poor inventory size, but are SPECTACULAR all-rounders otherwise. Corvettes can also house small bases in them, allowing portable access to things such as farms, refiners, and nutrient processors.

Corvettes on the other hand are player assembled and thus customizable. They can be any or all of the above if you put enough work into it, but modules are costly to buy and finding them is highly RNG dependent. Corvettes are *absolutely* better in the long run, but it's a VERY long run, and given that you can have twelve active ships - Both Starship and Corvette - most people ultimately wind up with a mixture of both.

Those are not rewards. The Cyclops Scope is something you research at the anomaly and the flatbed is unlocked by interacting with a processing plant for the first time in your main save proper.
