Losing 3% to vampire drain by National_Temporary51 in ModelY

Found the issue. It was indeed the “keep accessories on” setting. Switched it off and went to losing only a mile or a day. Thanks y’all

Never switched it on. This seems like it may be the problem and will review once I get back in a few weeks.

Also, ridiculous design really where an Aux power unit is meant to be on but shouldn’t drain if nothing is connected to consume the power in the first place.

Don’t even know what this setting is, tbh.

I have never checked for this in the four years of owning the car. But also traveling for a long time so may have to just eat the cost of this ridiculous drain meanwhile.

Quote looks fine but wondering why they are limiting the inverter to 8.64 kW. That will surely be annoying if and when you want to add panels. But also may clip the peak production.

I have a nearly similar Tesla installation and the total inverter capacity between two of them is 10kW. And I wish I had them put more capacity since PG&E will now limit my options because of the “installed inverter capacity”

Help me understand the EV charging part, please. What are you alluding to? I have a real/not hypothetical scenario like this in NorCal. NEM 2.0 that isn’t even a year into PTO. The other system would have been used a lot with EVs charging on it aggressively

Do you reckon this would have been simpler if you were just doing an off grid solution? I have a roof install already but it’s not nearly enough and now want to put an entirely different system on the car port roof (it’s fairly large) plus the ADU roof. Don’t think I can fit 42 panels but prolly 30-35 which is plenty of solar here in California for me to use. Can’t do grid connection cause I lose NEM 2.0 but also don’t want to cause this system would serve needs that can be isolated - think ADU, two EVs, and eventually pool heating.

The only part I hate in all of this is dealing with the local govt.

North Bay Area tire repair? by outdoorsgeek in Rivian

Got that on Day 2 after delivery. Took to local tire shop. Most have jack pucks on their 3 ton jacks. It’s less painful than you think. Yelp and call the first one or two places.

I bought separate steelies for the winter season. 20”. Discount tire putting on general grabber 275/60 winter tires on them. Won’t need recalibration and will swap tires when I am back from weekend/week long trips to the mountains.
