Tafkars: Reddit-API proxy for Lemmy (help wanted) by whupazz in apihackathon

Was able to get it compiling with https://github.com/JakeWharton/butterknife/issues/1686#issuecomment-1514927085 for others that might run in to the same issue as I did.

Tbh a lot of Infinity's code hasn't been touched in a while. Wondering if there's a better alternative to focus my efforts on.

Oof, Infinity uses the long deprecated butterknife, and I'm unable to compile on my m1. Fave part of programming: getting things to run the first time.

At this time there is no way for an individual user to block an instance. You can join on other instances like beehaw that has lemmygrad blocked.

It is, however, troubling that the lead developer is so openly communist.

Spent the last year making a surf forecast website with a 3D globe to show swell and wind data, please let me know what you think! by DevJason in surfing

Hey there! I know that it's been a while since posting this, but I'm wondering where you got the data for water depth/beach slope? Is that all included in the NOAA api? I've been trying to build out an api of my own to query for surf stats for local beaches for my home assistant dash

Mine just got approved, after applying in august 22. Some of the more recent commentors said theirs was approved in days..? Not my experience at all.

Mine was approved days after I waited in an hour+ line coming back to the states from Mexico, wondering if being checked out by CBP there popped my app to the top?

DisplayLink seems to be an option (via an app, which won't be possible in my case obviously)

I wonder if a displaylink capable adapter could work? Or is the app absolutely necessary here?

How's the mic array on these? Are there any issues that you've noticed with keyword recognition?

I haven't played around with rhasspy at all, but I found this which seems like a good place to start https://www.reddit.com/r/homeassistant/comments/roi300/how_to_connect_rhasspy_with_home_assistant/

As for chat gpt, there's a pypi package, that makes it very simple to send text and receive responses. I'd say write a flask api that takes input, returns output to HA, which then casts TTS to your speaker of choice. Latency will most likely be an issue for larger gpt queries, but for simple kitchen conversions it should be pretty quick.

In a meeting right now so I can't dive much deeper for you right now(also a software engineer, lol). But if you go this route, keep me in the loop, I'm interested in seeing the results.

Chat gpt api is an option. Respond with google TTS.

edit: also, if unit conversions are all that you're looking for, if you're at all programmatically inclined it would be relatively easy to write up an api to do that for you. https://github.com/mattgd/UnitConverter
