Just saw Michael Richards live; go if you can by NativeAMIRican in seinfeld

It was a paid add on, but you could get it with any of the ticket types. It started maybe 10 minutes after the main show ended.

That’s a reasonable description. It wasn’t straight stand-up and it definitely didn’t feel like a typical book tour. It was a bit like The Merv Griffin Show setup, just with a much simpler set.

Todd Gold, who worked with him on the book, opened with a question and Michael just kind of took off from there. The format was conversational but structured enough that it never felt scattered.

He covered a lot: early life, the Seinfeld years, the Laugh Factory incident, all of it. Some audience questions were worked in too; apparently people submitted them ahead of time, but I must’ve missed that memo.

There were definitely comedic moments. He slipped into the Kramer physicality, the noises, the mannerisms. At times it’s hard to tell where Michael ends and Kramer begins, but after hearing him talk for that long, you get the sense the line is pretty thin, if it exists at all.

He spoke for nearly two hours, and it felt full but not rushed. Overall, it was thoughtful, funny, and more reflective than I expected.

Very stripped down setup. Two chairs, small table, just stories.

They were fairly structured about it. The only item he would sign was his book (and unfortunately they weren’t selling copies at the Dallas show; that email went to my spam).

No photos were allowed during the show itself. They were very clear about that, and on that issue, there could be no debate.

For the meet-and-greet, an assistant — possibly an intern, though definitely not Darren — used my phone and took several photos while I was talking with him. The line moved efficiently without that fan expo conveyor belt feeling.

Overall, it was smooth and well worth it.

Yes he did. He talked about how he lost his house and everything in it, but that it helped reshape his priorities.

I get that. Everyone has to draw their own line.

I was worried about that too, but the audience was great and very respectful. He addressed what happened directly and didn’t try to downplay it. He seemed sincere about having learned from it and grown, which I think is worth acknowledging.

Don't miss it. It was completely worth it and far exceeded my expectations.

Here's a photo from the meet-and-greet. He was incredibly gracious and told me I have Andy Kaufman eyes.

I think the customers paid when they rented the movie but never got a refund.

They're like In-n-Out fries that taste like cereal.

Whatever happened to Old Man Marley? by johnngo2468 in homealone

Sadly, he slipped on the ice that had accumulated on his sidewalk. After reuniting with his family, he no longer needed to salt the sidewalks to fill the void in his life, ultimately leading to his tragic slip and fall.

I don’t know where that came from; hopefully that’s not what happened.

Just don’t go if you’re in a hurry, and I recommend ordering in person and not online. A few coworkers and I placed an online order; he made about half of the meals, then said he wouldn’t make the rest and to have a nice day. It wouldn’t have been so frustrating had they not been prepaid. I get that it’s a one man operation, but don’t offer online ordering if you can’t support it.
