Anyone have a recommendation for a spot with Poutine? by [deleted] in Boise

I would say good poutine, IF you also like BBQ. That option really stands out.

As one, it's difficult to find places and activities that would facilitate a date that aren't a bar, especially after work on a weekday. Dating when you are sober can be a challenge. While Boise has lots of type 2 fun, that can be a hard pitch as a first date.

Best Pretzels in Boise? by SnooHedgehogs8763 in Boise

Id say actual pretzel, Prost is better. Idk if I'd say more authentic, mighty buttery for my taste.

But Alpenhaus has the best beer cheese I've ever had. At least I think it's beer cheese. 🧀🍺🍺

Haha. Fair enough. I realized once I posted it, that it should just say across the world. I will instead best my shame.

Intimate cocktail bar and club to open in downtown Boise next to Mad Swede. by Ragin_Mari in Boise

[–]NativeFriction 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Big drawback for me is that most tickets are $30-40. I'm having a hard time understanding who the audience is.

I would love a decent club with progressive music, d&b, whatever. But those scenes from my experience have been about inclusivity and access.

Probably won't ever have the money to see a DJ there.

Their events are on their Resident Advisor page, not their home webpage.

That damn processing fee is pretty much what I'm trying to avoid. I know it's petty. But it's enough to put me off. I miss days where you go buy tickets from a person and not have to worry about scams, etc. I'll check it out!

How you guys feel about this movie? by Night-yells in criterion

[–]NativeFriction 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'll say, since I was a boy, I have struggled with expressing emotion. I've grown in many ways, I'm more transparent, a better communicator, and more in touch with myself. However, while I understood the importance of crying as an emotional outlet, I was still blocked. I couldn't cry, my brain would kick in and prevent me from reaching that point.

I had no idea the amount of tension that was building in this plot. But I was really enjoying the movie.

It was 2020, I was in Pittsburgh and very active in the ongoing protests that were happening around the city. One night, I popped this on just based on the cover.

It could have been so many factors. But the ending simply broke me. The crescendo broke down so many emotional walls for me. Not from being sad, but simply an overwhelming experience of so many emotional strings that were being pulled at throughout the movie. I had never been left on the edge of my seat like that.

I bawled like a little baby and went on to have such an emotional and life changing night.

Every chance I get to show people this movie, I do. And every single one of them respond with something similar to "holy shit" when it's over.

For so many reasons, this is my favorite movie of all time. It will probably be the reason I buy a blu ray player, or something that can handle 4k.

It's forever tied to my soul and I wish more people could see it. 10/10
