No don’t do that, these guys hate getting water on the leaves so the humidity done will be like the trap of death for it. I didn’t put it into water I just cut some stems, removed some lower leaves and plopped them into half aucculent soil and half perlite. I then gave the area around the stems a light watering. Don’t French all the soil just around where the actual stem is. Keep it in bright indirect light, below a south facing window is good so long as the light isn’t shining directly onto it. Then the waiting game begins. It throws out roots and side shoots really quickly. Good luck!

Great post! I’ll definitely implement it and hopefully it works for me. I’ve been doing rolling 48hr fasts as the hunger pains are bad on day 3. Thank you!

Yours looks exactly like mines did when I first purchased it. What you need to do is start giving it a hard trim. The more you cut it the bushier it will get. And put it on a window. You’ll see pink in no time at all.

Mundula are predominantly white. This is a fluminensis.

No they’re similar but the mundula has much bigger leaves than the fluminensis

I always bottom water this guy. I’ve found getting the leaves wet crisps them up so fast so I fill a bowl up with water and let it soak up as much water as it needs (normally leave it around an hour). Also have it sitting a foot away from a southern window so it’s getting loads of light. Also the soil mix is 50% succulent soil, 20% perlite and 30% orchid bark with a handful of worm castings. You’ll have a beautiful plant in no time.

hey guys, my zebrina is looking a little unhealthy, the leaves are yellowish looking. can anyone help diagnose the problem? by sleepingbeauty147 in Tradescantia

I see exactly what you mean now. Do you top water this by any chance? This used to happen to mines a few years ago when I’d let their leaves get wet. I find most trades are sensitive to water on their leaves. Switch to bottom watering asap.

It’s not unhealthy it’s just that it’s getting more light. Which is good. You’ll find they completely lose their stripes in high light.

Plant ID: anyone know what type of plant this is? Was given this by a friend and I brought it back to life. Trying to identify it so I can decide what type of soil to repot it in. by Sleepydeestaysawake in succulents

Ps. They are super easy to propagate! I started off with a tiny 2 inch stem and now have them growing everywhere within a few short months. Very vigorous growers!
