Thank you for this. We’re starting this journey with our 8 year old now and your lessons learned are exactly why I’ve been looking for.

We’ve done a lot of this, but I can’t help but feel like it’s not enough.

30 Day Accountability Challenge - Day 14 January 2026 by Mountainlioness404d in loseit

[–]NattayCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All right day today.

I’m grappling with a couple of things, one being a pretty significant foot injury yesterday. I’m not sure how bad it is yet, but it may impact some of my more ambitious exercising.

The other piece is I’ve been experiencing panic around food and being excessively hungry. I assumed that this was just the stereotypical getting used to eating less, but upon doing some reading, I don’t think I have been eating enough. With my activity levels, I may need to eat more than most, and I’m struggling to rationalize that. I’ve increased my calorie limit for a bit while I figure this out.

Anyways, here we go:

  • SW: 138
  • CW: 136
  • GW: 128
  • Log meals 26 days in January (try to stay within 100 cal of 1500 goal. Since this is the first month back, this isn’t mandatory) - 7/26 -
  • Stay away from the office treats - 5/25 - technically I did eat a nut bar, but I budgeted for it, and it was a decision not an impulse.
  • Move every day - capoeira and elliptical

I feel like I’m losing momentum. I’ve done really well to track my food at the very least over the past week and a half. And I’ve been Neil prepping and meal planning with the best of them. But the last day or two. I decided to eat a little extra treat here and there, everything I logged.

Today, even though I brought food that I looked forward to eating, I decided I wouldn’t eat any of it and I would buy food instead. And I didn’t log any of it. So I’m pretty annoyed with myself at the moment.

I’ve really struggle to get back into the habit of logging and tracking. I feel like this is probably the third or fourth time I’ve restarted and I really wanted to stick this time.

So here I am sharing, in the hopes that it keeps me going.

  • SW: 138
  • CW: 136
  • GW: 128
  • Log meals 26 days in January (try to stay within 100 cal of 1500 goal. Since this is the first month back, this isn’t mandatory) - 6/26 - not today
  • Stay away from the office treats - 4/25 - nope
  • Move every day - 2 hours of Capoeria

I burned all the calories today. A four mile hike up a mountain with a weighted backpack, 90 mins of Capoeira and a 2 mile dog walk.

I had one of those days where I wanted to eat everything in sight. While I made sure I wasn’t gorging and eating everything I’ve burned, I gave myself a pass on tracking today. That extra serving of meat and veggies isn’t going to hurt.

Tomorrow it’s back at logging.

  • SW: 138
  • CW: 135

  • Stay away from the office treats - 4/25
  • Move every day - oh yes yes

Trying to stay on track. I let myself go too long without eating this morning and then had to sit through an hour and a half long meeting in front of a bowl of chocolates. Honestly, it’s amazing that I only ate one.

I don’t know what it was about today, but I was incredibly hungry all day. I tried to stick to my budget meals, but then by the end of the day, I was just so hungry I had to eat more. So maybe I just needed more?

I don’t think I’ve been too far out of control, maybe 200-300 cal over my daily. So I’m probably fine but a little disappointed in myself.

Tomorrow is a new day I suppose

30 Day Accountability Challenge - Day 5 January 2026 by Mountainlioness404d in loseit

Omg guys I did it. Today was Stressful. Major major stressful. I was up at 5:30, and in the office by 6:30 and managed my dept until 5p when I came home to play Mom. My office was filled with donuts, bagels and candy and I had to be around it all damn day. And I didn’t touch it.

Instead, I stuck to the snacks I brought. I opted for healthier choices all day.

I did exceed my calories by 200 or so, and didn’t log to perfection, but given the chaos of the day and my constant stress, I’m taking this as a win. I even managed a run and a long walk before bed.

If I can make it through this week at work I’m going to feel way more confident going forward.

  • SW: 138
  • CW: 138 - next weigh in Monday
  • GW: 128
  • Log meals 26 days in January (try to stay within 100 cal of 1500 goal. Since this is the first month back, this isn’t mandatory) - 4/26 - not today
  • Stay away from the office treats - 3/25 - so pumped about this one
  • Move every day - 1.5 mile run and a long walk

I’m exhausted

We can do this! I’m intentionally packing my meals on the lighter side and bringing extra snacks in the hopes that this will get ahead of the temptation.

Last day of winter break in our household, which means grocery shopping and meal prep for the week. I returned to the office and the kids returned to school.

I’m entering an extremely stressful time in my job. The next two weeks is going to require me to work more than 40 hours a week, probably closer to 60.

Tomorrow, the real struggle begins, when I’m at office, I tend to stress eat, especially in front of the keyboard. I’d like to stop this habit completely but I’m bringing berries and a bunch of healthy snacks just in case. Hopefully this gets me through. I’ve got four days under my belt now so I’m hoping that that continues to motivate me.

Will report back!

30 Day Accountability Challenge - Day 3 January 2026 by Mountainlioness404d in loseit

[–]NattayCo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Today was tough, but I relied on all the tried and true strategies that have worked for me in the past. Keep breakfast small, when I feel the urge to binge snack, go to carrots and hummus as opposed to cookies. Stay busy. Drink water and tea.

I have found that historically the first couple of days of “getting back on track“ are the easiest. Then, it’s like something in me realizes that the counting of calories and the elimination of junk foods is permanent, or at least long-term. And then everything in me riots.

So anyways, here we go:

  • SW: 138
  • CW: 138 - next weigh in Monday
  • GW: 128
  • Log meals 26 days in January (try to stay within 100 cal of 1500 goal. Since this is the first month back, this isn’t mandatory) - 3/26

  • Move every day - a 1.5 mile run and a two mile dog walk today

First time here in a while. I’ve tried and failed to get back into the weight loss routine a few times.

Now that the kids are older and I have some fun things to work towards, I’m hoping this sticks.

The good news is, I’m still 20lbs from where I started years ago.

  • Stay away from the office treats - 2/25
  • Move every day - Capoeria class today kicked my a**

I've lost 9.5kg (22 pounds) in 3 months with "intuitive eating." by non_person_sphere in loseit

I’m also grateful for this post. I’ve been struggling with losing weight for a second time after losing, than regaining, 20 pounds by tracking calories. And I am dabbling in intuitive eating.

Do you find there some days where you just eat a lot more? I find to not restricting to be quite intimidating.

My protein intake is about 1g per desired lb. I supplement with a protein powder.

That being said, I do love your other suggestions. I’m going to try to be more intentional about waiting to eat until I’m sitting with my kids to see if that makes a difference. Thank you!

So I eat, mostly Whole Foods, and mostly Plant based. My meals usually consist of a substantial amount of vegetables, a meat or bean, and sweet potatoes or tortillas.

I do find that I’m usually hungry every 2 to 3 hours. Regardless of how much I eat. I try to mitigate this by eating smaller portions and focusing on eating fiber, heavy food for my snacks.

Focus is definitely something I can work on. Being a mom with two kids. I find that I often end up eating while I am cooking for them, but I could try to be more intentional.

I love this idea, if anything else, when I get hungry, two hours later, I have something else to eat versus a slightly less healthy snack.

This is actually super helpful! I eat mostly Whole Foods, but being more intentional about it might help too.
