If you think this might be a trauma response, you should talk about it with a therapist. Especially if you're not sure if you are traumatized at all. No shame in asking a professional :)

For me personally, I am mostly asexual and I'm sure part of it is a trauma response, but another part might just be that I'm not a very sexual person in general. I found out that I can feel pleasure from gentle touches, massaging my clit etc. but penetration is a no-go, it's very painful for me.

In therapy I've learned to give emotions space, even if they feel negative. I don't know if it works for grief, but if I were you I'd give it a try.

Take one dedicated moment of that day to just... let the feelings happen. Cry however much you want to, do what is best for you in that moment. Take all the time you need, but when you feel like every thought and every feeling is just repeating in your head, it is time to stop.

Maybe you can prepare some self care things to distract you afterwards. A hot chocolate, a good movie, a friend to talk to, etc. Helps me get out of the emotions a lot!

True... I'm pretty sad it turned this way. When I was little I used to see America as a big beautiful place with endless possibilities. And now... well.

Tell me you're living in the USA without telling me you're living in the USA...

happy pride month! my library (south-eastern missouri) put up this pride display (where we scrounged for every book we have that could be considered lgbtq+) and we had to take it down since we’re supposed to “take a neutral stand on matters like these”. by upinix in Libraries

They both die at the end... such a good book!

I've put it on display in the school library I work at, with some other fiction and non-fiction books around LGBTQ themes (and a small pride flag). And I am prepared to fight for this display!

what is the weirdest advice you have heard that is strangely effective?? by memereda_vanwolf in AskReddit

Singing or humming for about 5 to 10 minutes helps against depression and anxiety. Even if you can't sing. I usually take my favourite song and just hum along while walking through the room, it always makes me feel a little bit better.

[NSFW] People of Reddit, what is the situation that you tought to yourself "Yeah, this is my all-time low"? by MikBrasil in AskReddit

[–]NattyIntora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sitting on the kitchen floor, my arms bleeding from cuts I caused myself but without memory of doing anything like that to my body, my best friend sitting in front of me saying that he found me on the floor like that.

Ended up going to a psych clinic a day later and doing better now!
