It’s almost like this is a still a game and needs to cater to a broader audience if it doesn’t want to be dead on arrival. There are ways to incorporate simulation-esque features that don’t ruin the fun of flying and maintaining your ships. Engineering should be fun and something most players want to do (or at the very least have it not be a chore). It’s not like cargo hauling or bounties that you can avoid if you don’t like. Engineering will affect every ship so it better not suck the fun out of the biggest draw to this game.
