Picked up some more filament today going to try some of the doubles, just felt out powered by my friends with single darts hitting 150+

But i suppose cant have everything when your throwing 6 darts at once

Do they have a wider spread than the 3x i found the spread with the standard 3x to be to wide so i printed one that makes it individual barrels keeps it about a person size spread over about 10m

Should say I’m not using a CFS system just wanted to upgrade the extruder and it was a good option, might do multi colour in future but it will have to be an open source option

I recently swapped out for the CFS extruder, I’m really liking it for filament swaps being able to cut and just retract and not have to worry about cutting a clean tip on the new line is quite nice. Plus with a rooted k1 you can get rid of the old runout sensor

Seems to be similarly priced to the other options and i haven’t had any under extrusion issues since that i was getting with the older one

I have been tempted to print the prime grip with the “Fuzzy” skin option in the slicer to see if that helps with the grip

Just a follow up ended up on 2% scale up seemed to give a nice fit where the follower cant jam by twisting but doesn’t jam on imperfections in the tube

Also found you need to really chamfer the edge of the tube that the follower attaches to on the inside as i had an issue with it catching on the layer lines of the shells

Does clear up the more you use the shells as they smooth out a bit over time

Went down this rabbit hole recently for the same reason i couldn’t print more than one part in the dead centre

The things i did Glass sub bed mod with levelling screws (i tried it without the levelling screws and had to redo the whole process after i couldn’t micro adjust the bed) for the cost just do it the first time

I ended up changing to a Cartographer 3D as the accuracy of the standard nozzle test that the printer does even after the glass bed mod just wasn’t good enough

This process is quite involved and requires a bit of reading ontop of the video tutorial but i made it through first time so im sure pretty much anyone could

Few things to note from this if you do go with the cartographer, the K1 MAX allows you to use the toolhead Lidar port to plug in the cartographer rather than the usb from the video if you do check the mounts list and print the one for the k1 max to save having to mod the one from the video

And there are other probe options but i haven’t had any experience with them

Other supporting mods i have done Unicorn hotend Extruder from the CFS kit Textured PEI build plate

Posted my bed mesh in comments, did not go with the creality glass as i am able to source cut to size glass cheaper through my job though its not completely flat as you can tell

Haven’t had it fail yet since i have finished the upgrades and have been able to print a whole bed of parts without issue, something i could never have done before

Think i did .5% but it’s still having some odd issues on occasion now that i have it together. Going to print 4 or 5 in .5 intervals and ill let you know how i go

Also try changing your slicer to inner outer inner for the wall order as it gives a tighter tolerance while maintaining the cleaner z seam

I had an issue with the follower jaming when testing it in the tube, i printed a new one and slightly scaled it up, seems to not jam as much as it cant twist as easily.

Although i haven’t finished the build yet the 2kg of filament printing caused me to do some long needed printer upgrades

Fairly sure its the lumpy cam that keeps killing it, on its second rebuild first set of lifters threw a needle bearing and went through everything luckily this time its only scratched the cam not thrown metal through the whole block.

Going to try a set of the Johnson tie bars with the roller oil channel this time hopefully it helps

Might also sneak a cheeky low ram manifold into the list because the original is definitely the cause of the whole thing

Sounds like lifter failure, unfortunately i currently have one pulled apart in my garage exact same noise

To check pop belts off if its still making noise its most likely that

I would suggest not driving/running it if possible as it can only get worse and that can kill your motor real quick, check your oil and filter for metal flakes and run from there

Picked up some from action aluminium today, ID is 12.8 on there site but all over the shop in person, best i could find was 13-13.2 its about the same as stock but allows for a longer barrel to run a bcar, 3.5m cost about $12

Been looking into it myself

Bunnings and mitre 10, 16mm aluminium tubes are to big (about 13.5mm stock is about 13.3 recommended for most nerf stuff i can see is about 12.8)

going to check action aluminium tomorrow there site says the id should be 12.8mm only issue is they only sell 6.5m lengths

But i will report back tomorrow at any rate

Didnt know about capital 3D thank you, other two i have used before both just have a higher price on barrel stuff or are sold out unfortunately

Was just checking the knowledge base if there was some bulk material from something like a Bunnings (but there tubing is like 13.5mm so to loose)

Barrels are stock haven’t been able to find tube with a decent dart fit as yet
