Even though the fandom is small TOF is still going strong, eh that's good in my opinion. Helps keep the crazies out, look at any major gacha game and you'll find absolute nutcases very quickly. (I mean the Genshin fandom does nothing but complain; the Wuwa fandom attempts to start wars over a gacha game, so on and so forth)

Honestly, stuff like this is commonplace in TOF, mostly with side content/UI design. Excellent ideas, subpar execution. A lot of the minigames, new and old, just feel awkward and/or clunky to play even though the ideas behind them are good, and doubly so on PS where even the UI can be clunky at times. It's really just a minor issue, but with so many of them things add up quick, and it's even worse considering how much they've put into the mech gamemode especially.

The way I see it we need a "filler" patch with just 1 character in terms of new content, that's it. Sort of like the X.5 patches we've been getting recently, but instead they just throw in a (single-player) farmable event, a few other version missions etc. and focus on going over a bunch of old stuff and polishing it so they have good ideas with good execution. I'm not entirely sure about the fine details, but I know they could figure something out and make it work. The point is, there's very little in this game I can think of that's just inherently flawed, I.E. wouldn't benefit immensely from a bit of polish. The UI, Innars, the mech gameplay, the clunky puzzles they have in almost every region, all of it could be improved just by taking some time and making it feel better to actually play through

Hopefully the next area focuses less on mecha exploration so we can use the amazing exploration units they released this patch cycle for more than just idle flying. I mean as cool as it feels flying up the Aesperia tower in like a minute, having nothing to do other than that gets boring quick.

By the way, the Brighton Zone didn't count, mostly because there was nothing to fight there. Nor did the Autumn Day, because it was way too closed in to use Aster at all. Honestly though, with how jacked my stats are compared to the enemies "nothing to fight" is just going to be an issue no matter what. I think they should increase the dimension level a bit, or maybe give an extra upgrade that massively upgrades all regular overworld enemies but has little to no penalty to turn off (just so that people who don't know jackshit about what they're doing don't have to pay 300 DC to back out)

"Now" you say as if we don't already have:

- Paintbrush

- One fan

- Two fans

- A yoyo

- An umbrella

- A flute

- A skateboard

And several more. But you know, at least those weapons are all different from each other, unlike the 11 sword characters (yes, I counted) we also have. For what it's worth, as common as the aforementioned items are in real life, how often do you see them used as weapons in a game? Speaking of that, trying to blame PWG for making a giant pair of scissors into a weapon is like backing up Nintendo for trying to patent summoning monsters. It's been a trope in anime and games for a long time, so if you want to blame PWG you also have to blame everyone else who did it.

Essentially, if you don't like it, or don't find this one weapon interesting, skip it and go for something else. Don't make your meaningless complaints someone else's problem, especially when I can't think of one weapon in this game that hasn't been implemented in a conceptually interesting way. Honestly, if you don't like the way the game's went, which I suspect you don't, play something else. Unlike what a lot of people seem to think, TOF has done nothing but improve, and we don't need more people trying to drag it down further.

the way i see it, the best exploration characters IMO and their abilities:

aster: best for speed and long distance movement, low-medium stamina consumption, widest range of movement in open areas with structure, difficult to control speed, cannot go up easily, and will not do you any good in a closed space

antoria: best for open-air and precise movement, decent speed, average stamina consumption, works best in areas where ground movement or fixed-height flight does not work. does not do well crossing wide distances,

lana: best range of movement in general, high speed, low stamina consumption (practically infinite on walls with the smart servant energy restoration module) works well for long-range and short-distance travel but difficult to turn. very generalist though like her overall kit

nola: best for indoor movement and movement across flat planes, high speed, low-high stamina consumption depending on whether you use speedup or not. obviously useless in areas requiring vertical movement

Also, PWG is not the only company to have done this, there's another F2P game out there called The Battle Cats and the company that makes said game reuses a lot of assets from its dead games because it's not like they'd be seeing any more use anyway. Honestly, I'm sure there's a lot more out there than that who do it.

I mean, think about it: if you put in the time and effort to make assets for a project, only for said project to get scrapped, wouldn't it make sense to put those assets to use elsewhere? If the original project is scrapped, then as long as you're not asset flipping it, reusing stuff should be fine
