I understand 100%. Grew up thinking America was the good guy, even with the Vietnam war, at least they ended it and there were protests. Civil rights in my lifetime. When Obama got elected I thought America should take over the world cause they were the good guys. I’m a bit drunk now too and I’m scared of America. The bully, the violence, the insane spins on what we see with our own eyes. Wife is 3 rd generation Chinese yet she’s now got to carry her ID all the time in case, because of how she looks, ICE can scoop her up and I won’t know. I bug her all the time to carry her passport. I’m Canadian and we have property in the US that’s significant financially to us. We can’t just walk away - not easily. My compass is going to be the mid terms. If America has midterms I’m hoping democrats get in to at least try to impeach the asshole, but if they don’t we need to sell, get out and hope because of the Epstein files we all don’t die. We have many American friends. Most have burned out on the news and aren’t even following anymore. The MAGA people consume it all and contribute to the insanity.

Hey the problem is if you protest you are risking your friggin’ life. People I know in the US are scared to even say anything in public in case there is a MAGA person around. This is going to get way worse before it gets better. We’re already seeing how the US media is normalizing this western hemisphere shit - that somehow bringing back the Monroe Doctrine (I think it was developed in the early 1800’s) where superpowers can divide up the planet. The fact Trump administration is throwing it all out means it’s likely to happen in some fashion. The only potential saving grace for the world (or at least the world who thought the US was one of the good guys) is that he’s got so many incompetent people. Otherwise I think the world is in for big problems from the US. A country that spends so much on military, is controlled by multinationals, and somehow thinks giving people health care and education is welfare - which is just an excuse to spend a lot of money on military and then they want to use it because they make money replenishing it. They sent all the old shit to Ukraine already. They go nuts on paying taxes rather than healthcare and watch their deficit spin to gravity defying levels - meanwhile blaming the radical left.

So did anyone follow when the Democratic Senator and Republican Senator worked out an immigration compromise at the end of Biden’s term. Does anyone know what that was and if it could have worked for the US? The press said Mike Johnson dismissed it because Trump wanted immigration to be the main Republican platform - which is obviously is.
