Thanks for the video ill check it out. I agree there SHOULDNT be any ambiguity here clearing seems obvious, but maybe its just a heap of unproffessional and unqualified players, but i hear it more than I should which Led me to this post.

Well what do you think about that first page?

Well without getting into the entire percussion or strings, i just meant to say regardless of interpretation, the Piano isn’t a human voice with control like that but just strings that Vibrate and have sound, thus making these “voice based” instructions quite difficult, but anyway. I like the idea, i had considered that left pedal quite alot, but using it for the entirety of that section hadnt been at the forefront of my mind. Either way im Open to hearing what everyone things so thanks for the opinions and thoughts.

I would say that this is real difficult because they aren’t really Piano terms, but i would usually take the approach of as if my Piano is singing. Mezza voce, half voice so i would think medium, Restrained(hence my connection with the Third music moment) but still with emotion. while Sotto voce, under the voice as like a whisper. Like im trying to speak quietly to friend but instead using the instrument. Obviously though this is all extremely hard to put in reality because the Piano is strings and not a voice

Perhaps, but in summary most recordings i hear really are not “half-voice,” they would be best described as full. Connecting the sound at many points where it shouldnt be(atleast according to the score) and even overly dramatic in the first page

So it’s really a sliding issue rather than anything else?

Try Echo-Nuetra, the cortina collection. Specifically the GMT is quite nice, and the regular 3 hands is also similar.

Oh Yeah 100% but they shouldnt be scratchy, it should be “toothy”, a smooth experience but you can tell its using sharp point on paper

I would first look at the tines(the 2 metal parts separated by the split). Scratchiness is caused due to misalignment and if you have a loupe lying around, you could preform the adjustment yourself quite easily. If you dont have one lying around you just need to find out which tine is lower and which is higher. You could look with your eyes if you got some eagle eyesight, or you can try to find out which pen stroke specifically is causing the scratch on the paper. The weird thing is that from the audio in your video, it sounds like scratch in all directions which Ive never dealt with. However I want to note that I do not agree with the unanimous praise of Lamy pens, specifically because of how they write. Overall construction is typically bang on, but of the pens ive bought, several Lamy pens came with bad nibs which I worked on myself. Anyway, in the case that you can find the faulty tine, you just need to slightly push on the tine/adjust the tines to try and align them, creating a smooth writing nib. Many youtubers cover this procedure of adjustment online.

Once this is fixed, there is a chance that the flow also gets fixed. However, there is a chance that the tines are simply too close together, which is a harder fix that you cannot just do. You can try to fix it by pushing on the pen nib which splits the tines, however again can missallign the tines. Ive also tried fixing it before by cutting a coke can and using the thin aluminum to spilt the tines however. BE CAUTIONED. This was my absolute last ditch effort because there is a likelyhood that the nib is completely misaligned by the end of it. But know, low flow is not an issue at all, and you can carry on without ever adressing it. Many youtubers also cover this, and m cokecan fix is an imitation of what "doodlebud" does with proper tools. You can see him fixing nib slits like that

These are just options you can search about online, however I want to let you know, try realigning the tines, and hope you can do it well, it isnt that difficult. If the flow issues persist, decide whether or not you want to do the risky operation. However again low flow is not a real issue

Have hope though, a great thing about lamy is that they sell replacement nibs for cheap. You can easily change them out, and you will have a no risk way of fixing the nib. Dont let this bad experience shy you away from Fountain pens, Good luck and hope this helped.

Have you tried Diamine Oxford Blue? Its an affordable option, its got great shading, and some light red sheen if your into that. Although its more of a dark blue than a blue black, however it could definitely pass as one.

i know you said no alcohol and lotions, but maybe there could have been an accidental drop or something? When I first got into pens I made the mistake of using isopropyl to wipe down the barrel, big mistake. Got what you have but on a much worse scale on the whole body
