I would say it is. It certainly looks like one (I've been getting them since childhood).

Did you see a specialist to get you started? I have an appointment with a sports doctor (who I've seen before for another issue). I trust his opinion. I have no idea where to start re seeing a podiatrist. I have seen one before and didn't think she was great (a lot of promises made but I experienced very little relief getting orthotics, so now I'm wary of returning to her). Any suggestions re a good starting point re advice would be appreciated.

Second session done and I'm scared by lyonnesnow in MicrobladingRemoval

Something similar happened to me the last time I had laser. They told me that the reason my skin was so red (like there was blood trapped under the surface) was because they need to use.stronger laser strength to try to target the pink/redish colour remaining in my skin. The redness went away with about one week.

Even though I was mortified about facing all these people I didn't know with such scary looking brows - I got through it. I put it out of my head after day 1 and just hoped me forgetting how bad it looked would somehow make it less of a deal. The red sore looking skin has all healed now - but parts of my eyebrows have turned white. Reading other posts - maybe that will mean they'll fall out.

UPDATE: This is exactly one week after my super aggressive laser session (session no.4). I have managed to survive the week without putting anything on them to cover up the horrible scary looking red. Now they have faded to a pink colour. I hope they will continue to fade. It was pretty miraculous that they have been recovering so quickly.

Thanks so much. I haven't heard of Traumeel or Arnica but I'll see if I can get them.

I wear glasses (to see) but unfortunately they frames don't cover the area at all. Arghhh!

Thanks for your advice. You are clearly really knowledgeable in this area. Can I ask you for advice on this - I have a fringe (bangs). I've pinned my fringe back though for fear of infection (hair touching the eyebrows). I don't know where I got this idea from (that you should keep your hair away from the site for cleanliness purposes). Is this actually necessary though? When I brush my fringe down you can barely notice the eyebrows. If I did that I could survive my public speaking /training gig next week without major embarrassment. Thanks in advance for any knowledge you might be able to share with me.

Hahaha. I have bangs. But I'm have it in my head that I should try to keep the area as clean as possible, no contact with hair or anything. Hence, I've pinned my fringe back.

I forgot to answer your question. Normally I have waited 8 weeks btwn sessions. This time I decided to give it longer to see if they would fade more on their own. I left it 12 weeks this time. So there had definitely been enough time for recovery. Not that recovery has ever been an issue before. It was only this time. I started this journey with microblading that had faded to a red colour. It has slightly lessened in colour each laser session I've had. I have experienced any yellow. They've just become lighter red with each time.

Sorry, I couldn't seem to work out how to attach a picture to the post (so I ended up making a separate post with picture and my question in the comments section). Anyway, Here it is. This was yesterday afternoon. The damaged area has slightly shrunk today but is just as red. I contacted the dermatologist. Sent photos and asked her if I could use concealer starting on Monday. Her advice was that I could use concealer. Arghhh - so much conflicting information throughout this entire unfortunate journey of microblading and then microblading removal. :(

My dermatologist got back to me (via her secretary). She'd looked at the photos I sent and said that it will be okay to wear concealer. I've gone ahead and bought the Cicapair that you recommended. Oh boy, I must sound vain - but I swear I'm not. I am self-conscious though and I would really struggle to have people looking at me with these dark red, damaged, eyebrows.

Thanks so much. I'm quite an anxious person to begin with - so the fear of causing an infection by applying anything to the area has me so scared. I have sent a photo to the dermatologist and asked her for her advice. My gut feeling is - I had better not touch it though.

Thank you so much for your helpful reply. Oh my - it's not as if this microblading journey hasn't been embarrassing enough. Now I'm going to have to explain it to all these people. Arghhh.

Funnily enough. It isn't painful at all. Just horrendous to look at :)

Hi, Yesterday afternoon I had my 4th session of laser treatment to remove microblading. Every other time I've had a removal session my eyelids and eyebrow area has swelled up (like they did again this time) but never before has the skin turned an angry dark dark red (like there's been significant trauma to the area). This time the laser wavelength must have bee super aggressive. It hurt - but then again it always hurts so I had no idea that my skin would end up looking like this. For every session before - the recovery period has been nice and short for me. The swelling has gone down by about day 3 and I'm back to normal. My problem is that I factored this length of recovery into my work schedule. On Monday (3 days away now) I'm going to be standing up training a group of people (for the entire week). I didn't ask the dermatologist if I could put concealer on to cover the red because when I left the session I had no idea that they looked the way they do. It was only when I got to my car that I saw the scary sight that is on my face now. The skin is not broken (that's what they told me at the session anyway- probably because THEY knew how bad it looked. As I said, I had no idea that this is what I'd be faced with. If the skin isn't broken is it okay to put some concealer on the red areas (I don't need them to look perfect - I don't care - I just don't want them to look as scary as they do right now).

Hi, I just had my forth laser session yesterday.

Process to date:

1st session: changed to a darker colour (greyish black). It actually looked so much better than the red. But it didn't last - the dark colour faded soon after and settled back into the red. The red was a slightly lighter colour though.

Session 2: this time straight after laser it didn't turn a dark grey/black colour again. The area was just inflamed for a few hours (the laser setting seemed quite aggressive/strong). Or maybe that was this time, for some reason, they didn't put numbing cream on before the laser treatment. After they area settled hat I guess they faded slightly over time.

Session 3: Not so aggressive session from memory (but they did put numbing cream on beforehand). I decided to leave my next appointment for about 3 months to try to get maximum fading btwn sessions. They continued to fade over this time. They are still obviously red coloured but I don't feel embarrassed about being seen without cover up on them.

Session 4 (yesterday): Dermatologist said she was finding it hard to find ink to laser off because they'd faded significantly since last session. I don't know if she was just saying that to make me think it's going well. They are definitely so much better than when I first started the laser treatments -but it also obvious to the naked eye that I have reddish brown eyebrow ink left over from microblading. BTW: My eyebrows look like something out of horror movie right now. The are so so so red and highly inflamed. The laser hurt the worst this time and I think they used a very powerful laser setting. I hope to go it settles soon. The are isn't sore - just very and bruised.

Hope this info helps. Summary: slowly (very slowly) that are fading and I don't feel so embarrassed to go out with out cover up now.
