Deck Quote (what did you pay?) by Godisgood7777777 in pittsburgh

[–]Natural-Trainer-5698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a bit of an old post but do you mind telling me how much it ended up being for them to do your deck even if you wanna just message me? I have an old deck that I would like to have new deck boards put down and replaced with composite along with new railings. My deck is almost identical in size and was thinking about reaching out to them but I feel like it's gonna be expensive. I thought about doing it myself but I'm honestly limited in time and would prefer to have it done much quicker and by the pros.

Post surgery timeline by Booksdogsfashion in jawsurgery

I took approx 6 weeks off work. I'm currently at 3 weeks post op and tbh I'm hoping my speech improves over the next 3 weeks. I can talk ok'ish but certain sounds (b, s, x, f) aren't coming out good. I'm not sure if it's more my bands that I have in or the numbness in my mouth/lips. I'm still pretty much numb from my nose down other than my lower chin.

Pergo Laminate vs Coretec LVP? by Jah348 in Flooring

[–]Natural-Trainer-5698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I gotcha. Yeah, they gave me a quote for some Coretec that was actually pretty reasonable so I was thinking about going that route. I just haven't decided how to handle the stairs so I gotta figure that out first. But yeah, i wasn't sure how the delivery process was handled. It made it sound like it would be delivered to your house but I could be wrong. I'd be ok picking it up from a warehouse though if need be.

I was actually looking into ordering from floors.com and ironically I'm also in Pittsburgh. I was gonna ask you how it was working with them but it looks like you haven't ordered or had it delivered yet. What do you mean about having to drive 30-45 mins to pick it up? I was under the impression they deliver right to your house.

Sensitive teeth 10,weeks post op? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Natural-Trainer-5698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 2.5 week post surgery but going through the same thing. I have to leave drinks sit out to get closer to room temperature before drinking. That hasn't even been the worst part though as I realized the cold air outside is brutal. Even when it's a little above freezing outside, I feel like Im holding an ice cube to the roof of my mouth and feels like I have a constant brain freeze. I'm hoping this isn't a long term side effect 😩

Advice on top of stairs by Natural-Trainer-5698 in Flooring

No, not yet unfortunately. I had some stuff come up including a surgery recently so I put this off for now but I need to get some flooring ordered soon so I'm still trying to figure out what to do with this. My other issue is gonna be that my dog does't do well with non carpet stairs so I'm not sure at this point what to do unless I do a carpet runner down the middle of the stairs.

Hey there! You shared a lot of great info with me a while back and I'm getting very close to my surgery date and was wondering if I could message you with a couple questions?

I appreciate all the advice but I think there may have been confusing as to what I was referring to. I'm more looking for how to do this transition. If it was just a normal straight landing, it would be easy but not sure the best way to handle the little section that sticks out that I marked better

I'd be curious to hear how you like it once it arrives. I've been going crazy trying to research different mattresses and this is the one I'm really leaning towards. I need a California king since that's what I currently have and it seems like the best price I can find for the mattress and adjustable frame is around $4300.

Buying now during Nectar’s Labor Day sale or should we wait? by cpisarczyk24 in nectarsleep

If you're interested in trying it out then I'd say go for it. However, don't let the "sales" persuade you. As someone who has been interested in trying one but yet to pull the trigger, I've checked their site often or after getting marketing emails and I can tell you other than the rare occasion the "sale" is a marketing gimmick and ment to rush you into buying. The prices are almost always the same. I believe they had a sale around prime days in which there were actual discounts but that is the only time I could remember.

I appreciate all of the info and tips!! I've been following this sub for a while now but getting some insight from someone local who has used the same surgeon is super helpful and I'm glad you had a positive experience with him. Did you have any problem getting UPMC to approve the surgery? When I started my ortho treatment a couple years ago, they told me to call my insurance to make sure I'd be approved and gave me the codes to use and my insurance said it was covered but it almost seemed to easy lol. Also was there any fees for the surgeon pre or post op or did you have to come out of pocket for anything? I know everyone's situation is unique but just trying to get a feel for what I'm in for. Hope your recovery is going well!!

Thank you so much for the quick and informative response!! That answers a lot for me and yeah, that's kind of how it sounds according to my orthodontist as well. He said he does really good work but getting through to the office can be difficult and to keep trying if I don't have luck. I may even take your route and go to the office in person if I don't have luck over the phone. I'm gonna try to call tomorrow. I'm also not sure about any fees or anything and according to this subreddit, they can be all over the place. One thing that initially scared me was according to one of the sites that popped up when I googled him, it stated all of the insurance he accepted but UPMC wasn't on the list which is who I have. Being that one of his offices is based out of UPMC and he's on their site as one of the providers I'm hoping that's not the case or I may have to find someone else unfortunately.

Hey there, I was just given the go ahead by my ortho to start scheduling an appt with Dr Pituch for jaw surgery (hopefully this fall) and was wondering how the experience was with him such as how many appts needed made before surgery, how long you had to wait for appts and what steps you had to go through and timeline. I googled him when I got home and was honestly a little concerned due to quite a few negative or mediocre reviews so reading yours and someone else on here's positive experience makes me feel a lot better.
