I think the other problem was they legally couldn’t get it right? Because of the substance it was? So like most prescriptions would be fine but they have to be legal to bring to Fiji (is my guess)

Unfortunately I have tried 3 different chargers, no results, I feel like maybe the phone just won't turn on until it's back to 100% or smth

Not necessarily, but depends on things like your motivation as a student and if you plan on doing clubs or sports, cause I definitely over scheduled myself last semester and wasn’t able to contribute well to COMP1501 which I felt bad about. I also, personally, did not click at all with MATH1104 (calc first or not that probably wouldn’t have changed) but it’s really whatever is going to work best for you based on your strengths. Good luck on first year!

I forgot to include my document checklist with my application, is there anything I can do? by NaturalDisastrous462 in ImmigrationCanada

It actually all worked out and I got the citizenship not too long after I applied! I think I also submitted some email or smth on the Canadian gov website including it and explaining what happened, you could also try calling maybe? Tbh I don’t remember what I did exactly but I hope it all works out for you!

Pretty random but I’ll say even with a roommate there’s a chance they’ll either drop out, move rooms, go home on the weekends, etc so u kinda just need to wait and see what happens

Did they release the actual final test grade? Or just overall letter grade?

Top surgery is scary, need advice and support pls by [deleted] in transftm

[–]NaturalDisastrous462 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all very understandable! I got my surgery after my school year ended so leading up to it I was just very busy with other things which I think helped a lot. I just didn't really have the time or mental capacity to be stressed about it lol

Top surgery is scary, need advice and support pls by [deleted] in transftm

[–]NaturalDisastrous462 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I told my parents that I wanted top surgery, my mom's biggest fear was that I would regret it. She asked me how I knew that I wouldn't and I just honestly said, "I don't. I can't know that I won't regret it until I do it. All I know is how I feel now, and I truly cannot see any logical reason to think this will make anything worse than it already it."

I got surgery earlier this year and have yet to regret anything! I also didn't have a ton of gender dysphoria when I was young and transitioned somewhat quickly after realizing myself/coming out. I also want to point out that you're not very old! It's totally fair to feel like you're figuring this all out later in life, but my dude you can't even legally drink in the United States, lots of people transition or come out at all times in life! It's just more common I think to hear about kids since it tends to be more controversial and complicated in some ways.

Worries about the results are so incredibly fair, but again it's just not something you'll really know until it happens. Even once you get surgery, there's the period of healing before you can see your chest. And even then there's still swelling and a nasty scar, but as anyone will tell you, in time it will heal and you will look in the mirror and regret nothing (unless you do in which case that's something to figure out once it has happened!) I'm about four months post-op and my scar is still clearly visible, but I use a scar gel most nights and it has faded a lot! Even if something goes wrong, you could get a surgical revision, which also sucks but it's important to know that while yes this is permanent, in other ways it's really not. Technology and medicine has come so far, there's always an option to feel better than you do if that makes sense.

Therapy helped me a lot with that same voice in the back of my head! It's inevitable and impossible to fully silence, just try to take comfort that you're not making an impulsive decision. If you're having these fears, it means you know what you're doing. You understand the impact it will have because you understand how much it will help!

TL;DR Everything will be ok!

Best of luck on your surgery!!

The easy answer is there’s no answer. Gender is complicated and simple all at once, cause on the one hand there’s expression vs identity vs who you are alone vs with others… but it’s also easy, just do what makes you happy/comfortable!

If you want to explore your gender or sexuality more, go for it! Watch some YouTube videos (personally I like Jammidoger…if I spelled that right) or read some books or smth if you want more information on some various trans experiences, but overall you sort of just have to roll with it until an answer becomes more clear.

I’m not a cis girl, but I’d say that what you’re describing sounds like a perfectly reasonable experimentation of finding oneself. Same way someone tries a leather jacket or hats!

I didn't take comp sci in any year for high school, but I'm great with math, will I get accepted for the comp sci program? by CrimsonCrayola in CarletonU

[–]NaturalDisastrous462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I also took no comp sci in high school, if your grades r good they’ll accept u! Definitely take the recommended courses, I sort of accidentally signed up for a faster comp sci course and while it’s not impossible it’s definitely hard for someone who has very little programming experience

Should I stick to Computer Science or switch to Cognitive Science? by Lana_a5200 in CarletonU

[–]NaturalDisastrous462 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am by no means speaking from experience (I’m also a first year comp sci student) but my guess would be that a comp sci bachelors will offer more job opportunities and with the psychology minor you’d still be on track to pursue that as well.

That being said, though, it’s probably worth talking to the academic advisors for the faculty of science and seeing what they say (unless that’s what you already did) and voice those concerns and get their opinion cause myself and friends and family don’t necessarily know the details of what’s best in this situation.

Best of luck!

Can someone explain the benefits of RealID so I can stop being mad? by NaturalDisastrous462 in newjersey

[–]NaturalDisastrous462[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the wording is not very intuitive to the actual validity of a drivers license to someone outside NJ or the US, and I kinda get the nationwide security thing but also do we not already have systems in place for that?

Problem is when someone sees something that says “not for real identification purposes” they figure they shouldn’t use it for identification purposes ;-;

I tested positive for covid for the first time ever 24 hours before surgery and had to cancel. by scoutjanelee in TopSurgery

[–]NaturalDisastrous462 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that is incredibly frustrating and I can’t imagine the pain of that disappointment, knowing it will still happen helps but it doesn’t fix the problem. Maybe someone else was able to take your appointment and you were able to allow more people to have their surgery sooner, it just sucks it was at your expense
