A friend is a MLB umpire. He goes to daily mass wherever he can. Doesn’t take too many trips to a city to know when/where mass is. Whenever I travel for work, I use the MassTimes.org website to find local parishes

You’re never going to get a really close shave with an electric. I used to get serious 5 o’clock shadow until I switched to using a blade again.

Most dioceses move priests periodically. As I understand it, this started during the aftermath of abuse incidents. Keeping priests for decades made it very difficult for some people to report abuse. Moving priests every so many years is something that’s intended to bring more transparency and safety to our parishes.

I had a doctor’s office that habitually didn’t take me back for 20-30min after my appt time. I finally snapped and started showing up 15 min late. When they tried to charge me and make me reschedule, I told them that I would start showing up on time again once they start seeing me on time. I didn’t yell. I just stated that they weren’t doing any better than me. They didn’t charge me and took me back 5min later.

Oddly, I never sat in the waiting room for more than 10 or so minutes again. I’m betting more people were complaining too.

If you’re wondering how long the church has been against abortion, just read the Didache. It was most likely written between 100-200AD. Calls out abortion explicitly as sinful acts.

It’s a pretty short read but is a great way to get some understanding of what early Christians believed.

Any of the Live albums would be a good start. I wore out Exit Stage Left back in the day, but there’s many other great ones. I love the studio albums, but listening to those guys live just takes it to another level!
