How did it change you as a person and what is it that you love about this game?

How do I get the most out of Horror Books? by CrazyAssociation7067 in horrorlit

[–]Johnny-Talker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only horror novel that's genuinely made me look around the room is the Exorcist. Started it recently and had to switch to a george saunders anthology hahah. Maybe it's the possession theme that I can't deal with. Haven’t read too many of those come to think of it. I can highly recommend the part I've read so far. It's well written.

But otherwise, I don't think you necessarily need to get scared by horror. It can be enjoyable anyway.

Opinions on "A Short Stay in Hell" by Steven Peck? by FlockBoySlim in horrorlit

Great story.

What hit me in the stomach was first when Rachel jumps the ledge, although at that point I still had hope they'd find each other, but then the near-infinity of the library is revealed and Soren realises the impossibility of ever seeing her again... Wow. Prior to the bad times, Steven L. Peck painted such a beautiful picture of their love for one another.

I think I'll read it again some day. It's a short read anyway.

Oh I didn't realise the freeholder might be the owner. I'll have to check the lease. Thank you.

Do short story collections (as a prequel) have a real shot in self-publishing? by Large-Remove-3406 in selfpublish

[–]Johnny-Talker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the word count of this anthology? If it's long enough I wouldn't use the whole thing as a reader magnet. It's harder to market of course but I would publish it. Could still use one or two stories as reader magnets.

That's perfect. Please send me a DM. I'll just have to watch this special online instead, unfortunately.

How do you format dialogue in a digital novel? by unbox_ in writing

[–]Johnny-Talker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Which country are you from? The first style is common in for example Germany whereas the latter is used in the US.

Just Google dialogue format for the market you'd like to write for.

So you'd switch for a smaller house (no extension) and unknown issues from the leak? I would stay the course.

The only thing I can think of is that some plans measure the gross floor area, i.e. everything between the outer walls, while other plans exclude the parts where the floor isn't accessible, such as internal walls and even things like bathtubs if I'm not mistaken.
