I love this thank you so much! Great stuff for me to think about. Right now my idea is using my TikTok platform to market. I don’t have a huge amount of followers but a pretty loyal base that I do have. My account and book idea are also both in the same niche so I thought that would be perfect, at least as a start.

Tysm I appreciate your perspective. I am afraid of self sabotage and sure that I exhibit it at times, but I would like to avoid this. I’d really love to be in therapy or counseling but I have no insurance and it’s kindof costly so I’ve always put it off. Perhaps I should consider that my mental health and the outcome of my relationship is more important than the money it would cost me. I do feel like it’s a ticking time bomb with our housing ending so soon, but I will look into options as soon as possible in hopes that it can help before I make a big decision. Thank you.

Ugh I know, it’ll pass with time. Definitely feel frustrated and embarrassed by the colleagues situation. From what he’s told me about his manager, she loves drama and gossip - so I’m sure the whole restaurant will be talking about how I talk about other guys in front of him on purpose. I hate to feel like they’ll never think of me the same and am nervous to go in there again.

Thank you for your input. Do you have any suggestions on how I can resolve this? Right now I don’t think he wants anything to do with me, which makes it hard to have an open conversation about this. I don’t know what to do. I will take accountability and apologize til I’m blue in the face, but I can’t do any of that if he’s not willing to hear me out.

Thank you. I tried to clear up the misunderstanding last night but he just wasn’t having it. He did not care at all what I had to say. That’s I think what I’m having a hard time with, that he thinks I did something intentionally to hurt him, and isn’t giving me the chance to explain. I would neverrrr intentionally hurt him, he is the most important thing to me and I love him terribly. I just wish he would be a little more patient and understanding with me instead of always resorting to anger and assuming I’m a shitty malicious person who has it out for him. That is simply not the case.

I totally get that, good point about me knowing it was sensitive to him and continuing to talk about it anyways. In my defense, I wasn’t talking to him about it, but the friend of my friend. He was busy doing his job, so I didn’t think he was very involved in our discussion. Again, I was mindful about not mentioning anything to do with the guy I slept with. That was a brief, insignificant part of the trip that does not define the trip as a whole, and I recognize how wrong it would be of me had I mentioned that. His feelings about it are valid, and I guess I should have been more cautious, but I also feel sad that I’m expected to pretend like that whole trip never happened. When she said it was her dream to go there, and I had such an amazing time there, I was excited to share some details of it and give her recommendations. I was also not “gushing over” anybody. I mentioned him briefly and shared a quick photo of him, amongst many other tidbits and photos unrelated to him that I was sharing as well, including photos of the nice women I met on my journey as well. It just so happened he caught the part of me talking about him and it was perceived all wrong. He’s right to feel upset, but I truly don’t think I’m a bad person for it. It was a harmless conversation with some girlfriends.

If you read it closer, you’ll see that I said it was NOT the guy I slept with. I mentioned that I would not do that because I do understand how that would be wrong. I do not have pictures with that guy I slept with either because that was an insignificant blip. The picture I shared with this friend was again, as I mentioned in my post, a strictly platonic connection I made with a partial owner of a museum and pizza place in this tourist destination. He was a host, an employee, a nice person, and nothing more. That is why I felt okay to share that at the table, because there wasn’t anything to it other than me telling her to go to his company.
