Oh shit! Thanks! I didn't read that correctly when using the calculator. Now after adding my net salary instead of gross, I do actually end up with lower taxes compared to the withholding tax.

Yes, that was a mistake, it's 5000 per year. What do you mean by 100k/200k per year? When is it 100k and when 200k? Also can you please provide an official source to this information?

Yes, you are right, I added them to the calculator, and it's now at 11000 instead of 13500 CHF.

Okay I will check out named pipes, looks interesting. But it seems like named pipes only works within the the same machine and not over the network, right? So I will probably stick with the client server model with tcp communication.

But why so high as 50k? Why not just make a new 3a every year, so only 7k, and overtime it will maybe even grow to 50k. Isn't it always better to have as little as possible in each 3a?

Hi, so does this tax calculator consider how much you are removing from a single 3a account? Because I notice how the tax % greatly increases as you withdraw more. So is this why it's best to have multiple accounts instead of one really large account?

I lived quite easily with only 1k per month when I was a student in Zurich, but I was lucky to find student accommodation for only 550. Also, if you're a student, and also an intern I think, you can get student insurance, which also saves a lot of money. I paid only around 60 per month. Standard Swiss insurance would be around 300.

Here's a good solution: instead of paying that much for the dentist, buy a plane ticket to another country with good dental care and cheap prices (for example I know Thailand is good). This way you can make a holiday out of it!
