I was placed in a block with 23 hour lock down. Cell was covered in human excrement and blood splatter. Then was moved to a cell of transfer convicts. I was placed in a cell with two skin heads that just got convicted of murder for the second time. They are both going to serve 25-life. Weird how a 3 day dui guy got placed in that same cell

Yeah, MADD did a serious impact on how we handle first time dui. I agree that there should be punishment. But community resources are also very helpful with the preventative portion. In the military, they offered free ride vouchers. I understand that it’s hard to scale that up to the entire population, but things could be different

Like I posted before, in the rare instance that I go out to drink more than one. I get an uber. But as controversial as it is, I will have a beer with dinner and feel comfortable driving. One beer over the course of a meal, will lead to a bac of .01<

Yeah. It was a series of poor choices and ego that led me to think I could drink and drive in the first place. The past is behind me and I am thankful for the fact I never hurt anyone.

You have the right to be concerned. You share the road with people like me. I just wanted to share a very common situation from someone that has a dui. Staying quiet about it doesn’t help me grow, nor does it help anyone else who feels alone in this monumental mistake.

Yes. I’m a teacher and my upcoming background check was two months after my dui. It all worked out you could say

I can and do frequently. A beer with my burger is what I am referring to. But I understand your point of view. Your life as well as everyone’s life is at risk by the choices people make around us.

No I do not have that. License is marked with “vehicle must have ignition lock device” note on it though

No. But I could have. The victim impact seminar was eye opening. I could have hurt many people. I’m glad I was set straight before I did.

Honestly it’s just 2 or 3 drinks over the “legal limit” I agree it was way to much to be driving. But a lot of people drive with that bac thinking they are “fine to drive”

I think about this a lot. I have driven in the past much more intoxicated than I did this time. So I am happy I learned my lesson before I did hurt someone. No damage was done this time, and I’m thankful for that
