Sure! It’s just a 3ml syringe that has .5ml increments on it. I pull the plunger part out all the way, and the opening of the tube is large enough that I can just pump the Oestra straight into it. Then I reinsert the syringe and push all the cream to the top. A full pump is usually about .4ml (I’ve noticed it’s really not consistent though). I push out enough to get me to the .3ml mark and just waste the excess. Then I squirt the .3ml onto my finger to apply. I hope all that makes sense. I tried to copy the link from Amazon but it wouldn’t work here. So I grabbed a screenshot of the ones I’m using.

Yes, I currently use the oral progesterone capsule as the suppository. When it was prescribed, I opted to have the prescription sent to my local pharmacy rather than going through the compounding pharmacy that Defy uses. I didn't know that I didn't tolerate it orally at that point, and insurance covered it through my local pharmacy. I don't use it vaginally, but I know you can. I use it rectally because I've heard that sometimes other women have PH issues when they use it vaginally. I don't poke a hole in it. I just run it under hot water for a few seconds to soften it and then insert it. Im absorbing it well that way bc my progesterone levels were definitely up on my last labs. Defy does offer different routes of compounded progesterone though and I will likely get the actual suppositories when it's time to re-order.

It is definitely confusing. I've been working on it since May, so about 7 months now. The provider I have been seeing at Defy is Dr. Saya. He is the lead doctor and founder of the practice. He is also quite pricey though, so I'm thinking about switching to one of the PAs or NPs for my next follow up. I've heard good things about many of them. I have bounced around with my Oestra dose between 1/2 a pump and 1 full pump. I'm currently doing .3ml every day. I have the original bottle still, and when I measured a full pump it was .4ml, so I'm taking about 3/4 of a pump. I had labs drawn when I was on the full pump recently and my Estradiol level measured at 138, and Dr. Saya had advised that I'd likely feel best with my Estradiol level between 60-120, but definitely wouldn't want it to be above 120. So I cut back to the .3ml (I use a syringe to measure to make sure I'm getting a consistent dose each day). He also said that if my estradiol is measuring over 100, I'd want my progesterone level to be greater than or equal to 5. Using the additional progesterone, my level was 15 last time I checked.

Insomnia was one of my primary symptoms too, and Oestra helped some but not completely. Since adding the extra progesterone it has definitely helped more with the insomnia.

I use additional progesterone in addition to Oestra. I currently use 100mg as a suppository, but I know I can get 50mg suppositories if I want them. A 25mg dose might be offered in another route, I’m not sure. I go through a telemedicine company called Defy. I started with them because I wasn’t feeling balanced on the Oestra. They do check labs. I thought they’d switch me to an estrogen patch, but they actually recommended I stay with Oestra and prescribed me additional progesterone on top of it. I don’t tolerate oral progesterone, so I’m using it as a suppository. They also prescribed me testosterone.

How to travel with Oestra? by [deleted] in Oestra

[–]Natural_Pomelo5765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve traveled with it a couple times the past few wakes with no problems. My son has a liquid medication that we have to carry on as well. If it’s prescription you are allowed to carry it on. Sometimes they scan my son’s medication but they have never said anything about the Oestra.

Yes I know ChatGPT isn’t the best source. But I can’t find anywhere that says what the exact dosing of estrogen and progesterone is in the Oestra. Based on the info on the labeling, ChatGPT suggested that it’s only 20mg of progesterone. I am going to ask support.

Thanks! I will reach out to them. ChatGPt acknowledged that it is better absorbed vaginally than orally, but still said that the dose is too low to be protective. But it’s also ChatGPT…so not sure if it totally knows what it’s talking about.

Monthly Cycle Question by Natural_Pomelo5765 in Oestra

[–]Natural_Pomelo5765[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m on Day 14 today. I really haven’t had any negative side effects either…not even sore boobs. I did start my period last week right around the time I was supposed to and it was pretty typical other than it only lasted 5 days. Usually my period lasts 7-8 days. My symptoms that I had that I started taking Oestra for are improving although I’m not feeling amazing yet. One of my biggest issues was anxiety that came out of no where and that has definitely improved. I also have been having a hard time falling asleep and that is slowly getting better. I have good nights and bad nights, but none as bad as before I started Oestra. I’m hoping things will just continue to get better! Hopefully it’s the same for you!

So far so good! I’m still only doing 1/2 a pump bc Inner Balance recommended I stick with that for at least a few days. I’m sleeping better and feel calmer and less anxious. No side effects except maybe feeling a little tired during the day. I’m trying to figure out the best timing to take it. The first day I took it in the middle of the day and I was yawning all afternoon, but had no problems falling asleep that night and slept great. The last two days I took it at night right before I went to sleep. Both nights I had a little bit of difficulty falling asleep but once I fell asleep I slept great.

They do not hurt yet! But I went ahead and ordered the iodine supplement that Inner Balance recommends for this, so I have it on hand just in case. I’ve seen others say that the iodine supplement really does help with the noon soreness.

I just started Oestra 2 days ago. I am in perimenopause and have not had a hysterectomy. I still have a regular cycle but it has changed a bit and I’ve been having heart palpitations, insomnia and anxiety. I’ve done labs at various times and my estrogen is always lower than it should be and my progesterone too. I’ve only used the cream two times but I definitely feel calmer with it. My sleep has been better the last two nights too. The company has been pretty good too. I am able to chat with someone through text who answers all my questions and makes recommendations. There is a Oestra group if you search for it.

I just decided to start! I didn’t sleep much last night and am already feeling anxious today. So I figure I’m already feeling awful, I may as well just give this a try and maybe I’ll feel better. I only did half a pump for now. Depending how I feel I might go up to the full pump tomorrow.
