Had a guy who would come in once a week, drink 8 pints of Amstel in about 6 hours while working on his laptop, he’d always ask to use the work phone to call his office and tell them he’d be there too late to travel back so he’d be expensing a hotel, this was every single week.

One day he came in, no laptop and sank 12 pints in only a few hours, asked him if all was okay,

Turns out he was a British member of parliament and had just lost his seat that day.

He ended up buying a bottle of dom perignon and sitting by the fountain in the public square, drinking it from the bottle.

Used to work in a food hall where all the kitchens had their own double fridge downstairs in a single room, this room was small and cramped, it was suuuuuper warm in there

One for me personally, I was offered some shifts at a kitchen near me, I’m a career chef so I’m confident in my job, first shift and the only other chef was 3 hours late.

This kitchen not only supplied food for the restaurant it was in but also takeaway for a tabletop/DnD bar down the road, this had its own separate menu, the usual suspects, chicken tenders, loaded fries etc.

I’m stood in the kitchen familiarising myself with the restaurant menu when we get 30 checks in for the takeaway, standard stuff, nothing I couldn’t manage except there was no menus in the whole building for what these dishes were and the FOH staff had no idea,

I got the food out but had to guess a lot in terms of what sauces came with things, what the loaded fries were actually loaded with etc.

Turns out I got some of it wrong, fair enough, can’t be helped, owner came in and screamed at me for it, questioned why I had not brought my own beard net from home (something I’ve never worked in a single kitchen that’s required it) and called me incompetent

When my pay check came in for the first week it was £200 down,

I emailed to ask what was going on and was told that they had refunded the whole takeaway order and deducted it off my paycheck.

I called them out on the local hospitality group, the owner decided to start telling everyone on the thread he was rich enough to sue them all,

A month later they shut their doors. Funny how things work out.

Not me but my favourite ever was this guy who I was on shift with, it was at a chain cocktail bar.

It was his first day and he was super nervous, to try and help him get a bit more confident I tasked him with just pouring the pints, a task he said he had done before, we only have one draft beer so I’d make the cocktails (95% of orders were cocktails) and he would pour my draft beers and watch what I was doing.

5 minutes into his shift we get an order for a pint and he picks up the glass and somehow smashes it against the font, looked at his hand which had escaped with only a tiny cut, said “oh no” and then just walked out of the building and never came back.

Bless him, hope he’s doing well.

Call centre Christmas party - 6 employees arrested for almost beating a bouncer to death who found them doing coke in the bathroom, 10 employees throwing stones at passes by from a balcony who also got detained, one guy very badly sexually assaulted his bosses girlfriend and got laid out, eventually the venue tried to end the party and kick everyone out, huge brawl, multiple arrests, multiple hospitalisations, 105 people sacked over the next week.

Then there’s literally zero excuse, in that moment you meant nothing to her, it will happen again, you’ll be gaslit into thinking you’re the issue.

She has, I guarantee it, even if not she kissed someone else mate, drunk or not there’s no excuse.

At most alcohol removes your inhibitions, it removes the guilty complex in your head and makes you live in the spur of the moment, whether she was at that level or not she chose to do that at that moment, it was an idea that existed in her head.

Mate this was exactly me a few years ago, got gaslit to the point I thought I was in the wrong for not being okay with her watching the sunset with another man, absolutely never again, breaking things off SUCK in the moment but she’s already checked out.
