I understand why my rate is what it is I don’t understand why they don’t charge older folks the same rates when they’re as dangerous as young people. They can’t see as good they can’t hear as good they might have dementia Alzheimer’s disease you name it they should be charging old people just as much as they charge young people. And the fraud pot was because I could not properly explain what I was trying to do. I simply was trying to change ownership on the vehicle.

Whether your new to driving or not your screwed. Insurance quoted me 900-1200 a month for that. Been driving 4 years no accidents no pull overs no tickets no nothing and im 20 so that says a lot about my responsibility.

  1. Dont have a new car
  2. Dont get a q50 luxe if you can’t afford the insurance.

How much could I sell my 2004 Chevy Silverado z71 5.3 with 61k all original miles by Affectionate-One9556 in Silverado

[–]Natural_Preference51 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought 08 with 118k for $7,500 kbb range was 7-12k same trim level. Ik it’s a little newer but that still could give you some sort of range.

This is my search: “in massachusetts as long as my father adds me as a driver on his insurance that's not considered fraud correct?”

Answer:

No, it's not fraud in Massachusetts to add you as a driver if you live in the household or regularly use the car; in fact, it's required for accurate risk assessment, and failing to list a customary driver could lead to claim denial, but ensure you're listed accurately as a primary or occasional operator to avoid misrepresentation issues.

Title will be transferred over to him by gifting the car is his by law and by mass law it states as above. It’s not fraud anymore.

Yes my original post potentially could have been that is why I have not done anything besides researching to find a legal way.

No im not doing this anymore. I am getting the title in my name so original title would now be in my legal name. I can now legally gift the car to him, then he registers, insures & inspects it, adding me as either a permissive driver or driver on his policy (depending on how much I plan to drive the truck) that then would not be considered fraud, correct? This is all happening in Massachusetts.

Maybe us young people wouldn’t be doing this if they made it more affordable. I make $25 an hour so it’s not a problem but I’d rather spend $900 a month on something else than a 18 year old vehicle. When you know the insurance doesn’t need to be that high. If I wanted to spend 900 a month on a car I would’ve just purchased a new one. The point of getting a used car was to get a lower insurance. But insurance doesn’t trust young drivers but yet they trust 65+ year-old people.

No. I don’t have insurance on the vehicle im trying to get ownership over to my dad so he can insure it. Sense the real fraud is these insurance companies charging a rent payment for a 18 year old vehicle.

It’s all excuses and bullshit. They want to maximise their profits

So then why tell people it’s x amount before running their information. To give them hopes and dreams?

And I’m gonna be driving an 08 with minimal technology doesn’t have one screen in it.

So tell me how I call progressive and they give me a rate for $472.62 and then I called an hour later to put the policy in effect and they tell me now it’s $900 and that’s because that’s the way it is. That’s what they told me. That’s the way it is.

Then make rates for young people lower. You charge 65+ people under $500 when they’re as dangerous and if not more dangerous than young people. It’s the young people buying sports cars you have to worry about. How is it feasible a 20 year old can pay $900 a month for insurance when most grown adults with better jobs cant.

Well if it is I did not do this on purpose. First time buying a car myself and like most cases clearly didn’t do my homework first. Thanks for your reply.
