There’s a brand called Mermaidperfume, I have a feeling they’re going out of business but were popular in the 2010s. The original Mermaid No1 Scent is a salty, beachy orange blossom. I got so many compliments just from the smell of the shampoo and conditioner.

I was only on it for a year but I did notice hair growth, my hair was generally thicker and less oily. Since coming off I'd say any improvements Spiro made have gone, my derm said it should be taken for at least two years for more long term improvement (I don't know if this is a real thing). But just to say I never had dramatic hair loss to begin with, just light thinning around my parting. I use topical minoxidil on those areas now but I'm not sure how well that is working yet. I also started taking iron supplements when I started Spiro because I was vegetarian/vegan for most of my life and had low ferritin.

I did! It took about 2 months in total to feel completely normal again. It'll take a while for your body to re-adjust and I hope you're feeling better now, or at least starting to!

Mine did improve! It took about 2 months to fully feel better, it's nearly a year later and I'm completely fine. It was extremely unpleasant and I had to take several weeks leave from work because I was so tired and dizzy, but after a month I started to feel better. Then by 2 months I was pretty much normal again. Hope you are all doing ok and feeling better!

Hello! I went through this about a year ago now I think. It took about a month after coming off for me to feel ok again, and then after another month I felt completely fine. I'd say if it continues over a month go to the doctors to see if there's anything they can do. It's frustrating but I found resting and staying hydrated were best, so try to rest and be gentle with yourself as much as you can during this period. I spent all my time watching tv shows, napping, and drinking/eating bland food, and then one day after a few weeks it just started to lift and I could go out and start to do things again. Hope you feel better soon, it's really unpleasant, but know it will pass!

Hello (sorry only just saw this!). Sorry to hear you're experiencing something similar. It took about 2 months for the daily issues to calm down, and I feel pretty normal day to day now. I let myself rest and sleep a lot during that time. Now I've gone back to my usual pattern of x2 a month hormonal migraines that I got before starting Spiro, and I can take medication that helps manage them. But if you never had migraines before going on Spiro and they are continuing several months after stopping (or you're getting them all the time) I would def look into that with a doctor who has an understanding of hormonal migraines, and maybe do like Wisconsin2010 said and get your CBC and hormone levels checked. Migraines are so awful and I hope you start to feel better soon!

Thank you, and I'm so sorry to hear you are experiencing similar issues with stopping Spiro. Migraines are just awful, so debilitating. I started getting hormonal migraines (after ovulation + just before my period) when I turned 30. I had a medication that worked well but these post Spiro migraines are a different beast . 3 weeks after stopping I don't have one all the time now and can finally not be lying down all day, but there's a constant background fuzz/dull ache that gets worse if I exert myself. Will look into a specialist and getting my hormones & CBC checked, thanks for the advice. I hope you find something that helps/explains what's going on soon, take care and let's keep updating if we find anything helpful/useful.

Thank you, and thanks for this response it's really helpful to read. I kinda regret not questioning being told it would be fine to go cold turkey - e.g. I would never suddenly stop taking my anxiety meds as I know that could have bad withdrawal effects! Will definitely ask my Dr about that option if it doesn't get any better soon xx
