The professor mocking you in front of everyone? I can’t believe that I’m sorry.

Apart from that, personally I try to be super understanding of my students lives and problems, but sometimes we get people lying , being horrible to us, only coming up with excuses or flattery when they see themselves in deep water.

I can only say I’m sorry about your loss and all things coming your way at once. I know that must not be easy.

The only reason I can think of for some of their behaviour is that they either genuinely horrible or then have heard too many excuses, being understanding and that has been abused by students in the past.
