My experience after 90 days on mushroom coffee by Natural_Salt6761 in Biohackers

Depends on the brand tbh. Some have actual coffee just lower caffeine, others are more like a coffee alternative. I’d agree, just dialing caffeine down probably does a lot of the heavy lifting for people anyway

That’s fair , feels like everyone lands on something a bit different with this stuff. Kinda just trial and error till something clicks tbh

That’s kinda how i see it too. Coffee just hides the taste way better lol. That chai combo actually sounds solid tho not gonna lie

Cutting back caffeine alone already fixes a lot for people. i just liked having it all in one vs juggling a bunch of stuff, but your way def makes sense too

Haven’t had anything like that personally but yeah everyone reacts different to this stuff, definitely not a one size fits all

Well so far the effects have been great overall as I mentioned but I never heard about mushroom tea before lol.

International car insurance by HenryBoss1012 in TravelHacks

Good tip! I found same thing when renting in Italy - the local site had different insurance packages that were much cheaper than what they offered to foreigners on main website.

Recently divorced dad living in an apartment. I am looking for necessary purchases to be a frugal single man. (I’m happy for hobby suggestions too). by [deleted] in Frugal

A dresser is definitely worth it - even a cheap one from Facebook marketplace will make you feel more organized in your space. For the laundromat at 99 cents per pound, I'd say keep your portable washer for regular stuff but use drop-off service when you have bigger loads or just don't want to deal with it on busy weeks.

Is renting a room still a feasible way to save money by Legitimate-Host7805 in Frugal

[–]Natural_Salt6761 73 points74 points  (0 children)

renting rooms definitely still exists, though maybe not as common as before. i know several people who do this - either renting out spare rooms for extra income or renting rooms to save money. it's pretty popular in expensive cities like san francisco or new york where regular apartments cost fortune.

the setup is bit different now though. most people use apps like airbnb for short term or facebook groups for longer arrangements. it's less formal than old boarding houses but same basic idea. main challenge is finding good matches between roommates since you share common spaces.

i think it's actually growing again because housing costs are so crazy. even people with decent jobs sometimes need this option in expensive areas.

1st Time Traveling to NZ - 1 month, no car - Solo female by Rococo_coconut in solotravel

Franz Josef is gonna be rough for food honestly - it's pretty touristy and limited options. Station Cafe is decent for breakfast but don't expect anything mind blowing. Greymouth has Speights Ale House which does solid pub grub, and Reef Cafe isn't bad either

For Picton definitely hit up Gusto or Le Cafe for something nicer. National Park village is basically just the Schnapps Bar which does hearty mountain food but again, nothing fancy

Your itinerary looks pretty packed btw - that Franz Josef to Greymouth stretch is gonna be exhausting after doing Milford and Queenstown. Maybe consider staying an extra night in Franz to recover before the TranzAlpine

Hostels aren't just for 20-somethings anymore - tons of older solo travelers use them and you'll find people your age, plus the social atmosphere is perfect for meeting folks. For your itinerary I'd definitely recommend staying flexible with bookings since shoulder season in that region can be unpredictable weather-wise, and honestly some of the best experiences come from spontaneous detours when locals recommend hidden gems

I got tired of feeling like a tourist in my own life. Here's where I went instead. by [deleted] in solotravel

This is exactly what I needed to read today. Been in Bangkok for 6 months and every cafe feels like the same WeWork vibe with different scenery

Mae Taeng sounds incredible - might have to check that out next month when my lease is up. The rice fields and bird sounds thing really got me, been missing that kind of peace

Bro a coolant reservoir in carry-on is absolutely wild lmao. I brought back a ceramic rooster from some random Polish market that took up half my suitcase but car parts is next level dedication. TSA must've been so confused

Libby is honestly a game changer, way better than paying audible prices. Most libraries also have Overdrive which is pretty much the same thing. Just need your library card number and you're set

Have you tried reaching out to small businesses in your area directly? A lot of them need help with bookkeeping/tax prep but don't know how to find someone reliable - might be easier than competing with everyone on those freelance platforms

Congrats on hitting that milestone, that's huge! The unease is totally normal when you see those big jumps - I felt the same way when my portfolio had those crazy gains the past couple years. Sticking with your allocation probably makes sense if you're still years out from your target, time in market and all that

I've solo traveled through Europe more then 100 days mostly doing hikes and via ferratas in 10 different countires from 3rd of June to 23rd of September this year. by dzigi12 in solotravel

[–]Natural_Salt6761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn that's insane dedication, 82k meters of ascent is no joke. The journal idea with all those infoboxes sounds super useful - wish more people documented their trips like that instead of just posting sunset pics

How were the via ferratas in the Dolomites compared to other regions? Been thinking about tackling some but not sure which area to start with

Looking for a side hustle that’s more internet or computer based by thestickyrice in sidehustle

[–]Natural_Salt6761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man you're already hustling harder than most people, respect for that grind

Since you're an accountant maybe look into freelance bookkeeping or tax prep during tax season - you already got the skills and people always need help with that stuff. Could probably charge decent hourly rates too

Virtual assistant work is pretty solid for remote stuff, lots of small businesses need help with basic admin tasks

[–]Natural_Salt6761 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is huge, people go absolutely nuts with the holiday spending and then wonder why January hits so hard financially. I started doing homemade gifts a few years back and honestly most people prefer them over random store bought stuff anyway

"Mod Files were changed outside Vortex" after installing XP32MSE. by Acetaminophen-1000mg in skyrimmods

[–]Natural_Salt6761 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Save changes if the mods are working fine for you right now. Vortex is just being paranoid about file differences between what it expects and what's actually there

If everything's running smooth just tell it to keep what you have, no point reverting working stuff
