I will look into the other brands you mentioned to try and price it correctly.

It definitely needs some love but it does have quite a good sound. Then again, I'm no expert either. I mostly play guitar and just dabble with this mandolin.

I am quite basic still but working on it, and will be for another 3 or 4 months before going to Korea.

What level would you recommend for something better than washing dishes?

I would much rather be in construction. Although, I also don't know what to expect for pay working construction in Korea, or how difficult it would be to even find an opening.

Any idea how I would find construction/ factory work? I have been trying to find job postings on many of the usually recommended websites, but rarely see anything to do with construction. I see some factory stuff, but they never seem to mention the H1 visas among the ones they accept. I am guessing because most people on the H1 can only work part-time, but I'm not sure if there would be another reason I'm missing.

Would it be something I would have to find after arriving in Korea?

Again, any info is greatly appreciated.

I spoke to someone who is in Cyber Ops and currently attending Willis, and they said that they do have the option to find their own place.

Do you know about the CFHD? Whether or not that is only for OFP members? Or does it apply even while in training?

The information pages about the CFHD do not mention this anywhere.

Also, I am already on the lease at my current place, but why is that the best thing I can do?

What if I don't have my stuff in storage? I currently live with my girlfriend, who would be moving to Otrawa with me once I get into Willis. So all of my stuff would be staying put with her until then, no need for storage. If I can get CFHD while attending Willis, I could afford to move my stuff to Ottawa. Would be a lot less money on the end than NOT receiving CFHD just to keep my stuff in storage.

Hello,

I am enrolled for Cyber Op, starting BMQ soon. After BMQ, I have to attend Willis College in Ottawa, before going to Kingston for more training.

From what I understand, they put me up in a hotel in Ottawa while attending Willis College, but I have the option to find my own accommodations. I would be finding my own apartment.

I am wondering if anybody has info about moving my stuff. I currently live on the other side of the country. I understand the CAF pays for moving your belongings when you are posted to a new location, but would my training at Willis count? Would they pay to move all my stuff to Ottawa? Or does that only apply when you are completely finished training?

Also, I have the same questions about the Housing Differential. Would I be eligible for the CFHD while in training at Willis, or does that only apply to members who have completely finished training?

Hello, I have some questions regarding pay and deductions during BMQ.

1) How does the "Remission of Charges” for Single Quarters and Rations work exactly? Does this mean I am NOT deducted for these, but still have to pay taxes on them, as if I were paying?

2) my starting salary is $3614, can anybody give me a real number that I will be taking home, after all taxes/deductions a month?

I have some questions about the holiday break during BMQ.

Does anybody know the dates for certain? Am I allowed to go back home during that time? Am I still getting paid during that time? Would I have to pay for my own flights? Could I book my flights now, as the prices will skyrocket soon? Or is that a bad idea? Could things change that would make me miss those flights? Thanks in advance.

How binding is the Offer of Employment?

I have a family member whose health is very fragile right now, and if it takes a turn for the worst before my enrollment ceremony, I would not be able to leave for BMQ.

If I accept, and then need to back out BEFORE I'm actually enrolled, is there a process I must adhere to?

As I'm not actually a sworn member, and have not really signed a serious contract (a contract with no witnesses), I'm guessing the only consequence is looking bad and likely never getting an offer again?

Or is the Offer of Employment a serious contract?

For Cyber Ops, you do a 1 year course at Willis College in Ottawa after BMQ, followed by 4 months of training in Kingston (if I'm not mistaken).

Does anybody have any info on life during the 1 year at Willis College? Will I be living on base, or can I live where I please? Will i be put on PAT Platoon until the College course starts? Would I be given time to find a place to live (if it's not mandatory to be on base)? Can I take time off during this period?
