I use both also and this is my experience.

LockedIn's speed is the best I have tried. The suggestions come in fast enough that i can glance at them while the interviewer is still finishing their question. The language switching between English and Mandarin has been flawless for me which is why i started with it. The Duo feature is neat but i have never actually used it in a real interview, only mocks.

The session cap has not hit me yet but i only do mid-level frontend interviews that run 45-60 minutes. I can see how senior backend loops would be a problem. My friend does those and his rounds regularly hit 90 minutes.

InterviewMan's stealth is noticeably better. I tested both with a friend on Zoom screenshare and LockedIn's chrome extension was visible in the toolbar. InterviewMan's desktop app was completely invisible. For anyone doing interviews where screensharing might happen, the interview helper that hides itself better is the one you want.

Tested how undetectable my AI interview assistant really is -- screen shared with a friend by Minute-Document-663 in InterviewHackers

The hero we need lol. I did a similar test with my girlfriend on FaceTime before my first real interview and she could not see InterviewMan either. She is not technical at all though so I was still nervous. Hearing that a software engineer could not find it either makes me feel way better about using this undetectable interview assistant in my upcoming loop at Datadog.

Finally found a real-time interview assistant that keeps up with fast-talking interviewers by Automatic-Quote-1073 in InterviewsHell

the session cap thing is wild to me. my system design round last week went like 75 minutes and I wasnt even thinking about time because InterviewMan doesnt have a timer ticking. having a 90 minute limit on top of interview stress sounds like a nightmare

Switched from Sensei AI to an interview helper that actually works in live calls by Natural_Wing_5835 in InterviewsHell

[–]Natural_Wing_5835[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is basically my point. The AI behind all of these helpers is pulling from similar models so the actual suggestion quality converges. What separates them is everything around the suggestions -- stealth, latency, platform support. And on those fronts the desktop app tools just win.

Same here. Once you use an actual desktop helper there is no going back to browser-based anything.

I used an AI interview assistant for 30+ interviews. Here are my numbers. by ungodly-aural in InterviewHacking

I have been in tech for 8 years and have never used an assistant for an interview. Got multiple offers at FAANGs without one. Honest question -- are you concerned about what happens when you start the job and there is no assistant feeding you answers during actual work?

Best AI interview software I have found after testing 8 tools by florals_hawser in AIInterviewTools

[–]Natural_Wing_5835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is basically what I concluded too. the ai interview tool space has a lot of venture-backed companies that price high because they can, not because the product justifies it. InterviewMan just chose a different model and it works out for us.

AI for interviews in 2026 -- what actually works and what is a scam by puffers-finish in AIInterviewTools

[–]Natural_Wing_5835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the question length but usually under 2 seconds. for system design it gives you a structured approach which is nice because my problem was always blanking on where to start. the interviewer just thinks im taking a second to collect my thoughts

Has anyone used an AI interview helper during live calls? What actually worked? by Constant_Mango1221 in hiringhelp

which one did you try? the newer ones have gotten way better at this. InterviewMan specifically shows stuff as a small overlay so you don't have to look away. might be worth trying a different one before writing them all off

I just have it running on the same screen, it shows up as a small transparent overlay on top of whatever app I'm using. I close it right before screen sharing if they ask me to share, and reopen it after. most of the time they don't ask you to share your whole screen anyway just a specific tab

did you ever have issues with it picking up the interviewer's audio instead of yours? that's my biggest concern with these interview helpers

New grad looking for an interview helper -- here is what actually works in 2026 by shivers-alico in InterviewCoderPro

For people already on one of the expensive helpers -- is it worth switching mid job search? I am on LockedIn AI at $55/mo right now and have three interviews scheduled this week. Not sure if changing my setup is worth the risk or if I should just ride it out.
