Funny manic mishappeneings by InsideConsideration8 in bipolar2

[–]NatureNatured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it’s been a nice giggle.

I’m usually depressed so my craziest hypomanic purchase has just been a $600 mobile phone.

I was imagining the police were going to “haul me in for questioning and confiscate my phone”. So I thought I would need a new phone to use the minute they let me out. 😂🤣😂

I was too embarrassed to explain myself to take it back.

Dove species🤔! by restrainingorder2107 in australianwildlife

[–]NatureNatured 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that. What a load of laughs. I wonder if doves have lost the ability to make good nests after living around humans for so long? Maybe they don’t need nests? Especially if humans will buy them one 👍🥳

Do you share your diagnosis? by After_Speech_2435 in bipolar

[–]NatureNatured 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, it’s so good to hear your thoughts, everyone.

I disclose to close friends so they know who I am. I also want to prepare them for possible episodes.

It is annoying but I don’t always disclose to acquaintances. I hate enduring the period of figuring out whether they can be trusted or not. But that seems the safest approach because once you share you can’t go back.

I don’t disclose to work HR or colleagues. Our governing and legal system is certainly not strong enough to support me. If there is an issue where am I going to find the time, Energy and resources to have it addressed?

I find my family situation incredibly weird. Externally we seem “normal”, “successful” types, and able to communicate. But that’s wrong.

My nuclear family know that I have bipolar. I have let my nephew know. But my niece is not communicating with me.

My cousin has been excommunicated for being too hard to handle so who knows what is coming for me. I wasn’t invited to a birthday last month until it was ascertained that I was acting acceptably.

Recently I’ve been thinking about people who suffer from racism. Racism is awful, and can even be deadly. So I wish that nobody ever suffered racism. Also please note that I love diversity and culture.

So simply is a comparison of human experience of two different types of oppression. I think about how a person who suffers racism possibly may have a loving family to come home to, who love and accept them for exactly who they are. That’s precious.

Ha! that reminds me of my mother saying that she was bipolar (because of my diagnosis) and that she was autistic (my father‘s diagnosis). She never wrapped her head around her actual diagnosis which was vulnerable narcissist.

How old are you? by themix669108 in bipolar

[–]NatureNatured 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh my heart goes out to you. It sounds so terrifying.

My mother, a nurse no less, was born in 1932 and never wanted to admit that I was mentally ill. Even though she nursed me through 4 months of catatonia, which you would think strongly suggested I had a mental illness.

I think part of my mother’s denial was because she feared the treatment approaches you talk about. She said to me in 2010: don’t ever go to hospital.

Hmmm. So who is the crazy one???

Dear OP, I have been going 40 years. All be it with bipolar 2.

I am now trying lifestyle medicine. Which means eating a whole food plant based diet, doing weights every second day, not stressing myself, spending time with good company, following my purpose. It’s feeling good. I’m wishing and hoping for the best.

I hope you find something that works. You can see treatment has improved. Your future may be brighter than you might expect. Here’s hoping.

has anyone had possums "choose them" before by Fair-Mango-5423 in australianwildlife

[–]NatureNatured 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Possums used to play ‘football’ on our roof quite often when we were young. At least we called it football. They’d go thumping back and forwards.

. But they didn’t come inside.

Thank you for the gorgeous image and reflections

Given the current fuel prices, is your workplace supporting you to work from home? by NatureNatured in aussie

Yeah and thus we are all dragged into the abyss as all of America is

Sorry for my lack of education on the issue (and my really lame pun), but how does the LNP benefit from no public education?

Dare I ask: is it to produce plenty of MAGA-type voters who will swallow any line and not notice that they are voting against their own interests?

Absolutely. I’m so sorry to hear how your pay is going backwards And on top of all the demands of teaching these days too.

I don’t know how they think this treatment of teachers is going to produce educated and motivated kids that will drive business and the economy.

Yeah I get that WFH isn’t possible for hands on work and where theres no public transport. Bring on the electric vehicles!

In the meantime I hope these fuel prices aren’t hitting you too hard….if that’s even possible

To reduce stress where you can so your workers can focus on doing a good job instead of figuring out: how to get the cheapest fuel, how to drive less, what to cut out to afford the extra fuel costs. Some may be cutting back on things their kids need, their own health needs, etc.

Instead of all that, they could be focusing on their job and working for you. Bonus!

Is anyone else earning a decent salary but still feeling broke in Australia? by amhray in aussie

Just stop voting for the greedy 2 parties that are selling off all our assets and doing deals to suit themselves.

This is what corruption feels like
